Very nice and very affordable retro space action shooter in the line of old school Galaga.

This game offers a choice to play with mouse & keyboard, mouse alone, or a controller. Just make sure you select which option you want to use in the game options before starting a game. While I'd like to see the options off sliders for the sound effects and music, an off or on switch for these is all that's currently available. There are also no resolution settings, but there is a full screen or window option which helps.
The controls are crisp and responsive regardless of which control option you've made. Sound effects are well done, but I did notice that your ships basic fire has no sound at all, which makes the game feel like it's missing something.. and it is!
My biggest complaint with Metal Swarm Infinity is that there just isn't enough variety in the basic enemies and bosses. It's the year 2021, and even though this game only costs $5 USD, it would still be nice to see this game offer more variety and depth so that it has much longer replay value.
Overall, I give this game a Recommend, and an 8 out of 10 score which some might find a little bit high. I'd argue with anyone however who scored this game under a 7 out of 10 because it is definitely a solid game and a pretty good value for the price.
RECOMMENDED.. but not a "must buy" even to the most hard core retro space shooter fans out there. There's just too many much better, much deeper space blasters available today.

Man, this game is difficult. But I love a good challenge and am happy to say I made it past wave 50! Very addicting to where I could just keep playing and playing :)
