A Lovely, Soothing Collection
Slide Stories: Neko's Journey is a calm and relaxing collection of slider puzzles. It contains six animated images with five difficulty levels (3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and a jump to a tricky 9x9). You can play any puzzle on any difficulty level, allowing you to tailor them to your own skill level. I really enjoyed playing through all of the images on each level, that was a lot of fun. I look forward to playing them again on the higher difficulties, as I find slider puzzles quite easy. Whereas, if you struggle with them, you have the option to complete the puzzles with fewer pieces. There are some great perks included. One is an option to view the completed image (at any time during your attempt). It's great if you just need a reference to start, or to refer back to throughout your gameplay. I found this feature very useful when I wasn't sure how high up an item in the puzzle was, which was a good way to get started without having to shuffle lots of pieces up, down, or sideways if I wound up arranging the image in the wrong spot from the get-go. Another helpful option is that you can number the pieces, so you can see the order in which the pieces need to be arranged. This tool was particularly helpful on the higher piece count, as often there are at least a few pieces that look the same and they do have to be placed in just the right spot; for instance, two white pieces are not interchangeable, they do have to go in specific spots whether or not they look the same. The images are nicely animated. They aren't too busy, it's just enough movement that it makes the puzzles a bit more fun. Additionally, the animations can really help you figure out where to put a puzzle piece. I found the animations particularly helpful when solving "Like a Mermaid's Touch" and "Take Me Back Home." The music is subtle and soothing. It's a single, short track that plays repeatedly. I could go for some more variety, but it is nice as it is. If you enjoy slider puzzles, and want a calming activity, I do recommend Slide Stories: Neko's Journey. It's fun, and it made me feel happy and relaxed. It's a great little collection. I hope to see more (preferably added to this same collection)!

Relatively simple game, don't really need instructions to know what to do, ideal for those who like to shut off their brain for a few moments and solve a puzzle

Haven't done slide puzzles in years, this was a nice piece of nostalgia and very true to the experience of having cats! Using the numbers really helps when there's near-identical pieces such as stretches of sky.

**Update: Game has been updated to include a way to track which puzzles you solved at each difficulty :)** This is a decent slide puzzle game that is worth the price. The difficulties give you 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and 9x9. You're able to have the tiles numbered if that's your thing, or you can reference the picture while you solve. Cons: Can't move multiple tiles at once, makes me feel like I'm in a clicking simulator with how much I have to click sometimes. There's no information in the game that lets you see what difficulty you've solved the puzzles on. The above feel like some decent quality of life improvements that I would love to see implemented in the future.

The journey of Nina with her cat Neko is beautifully hand-drawn into six pictures with five different levels of difficulties - Relaxing, Easy, Fun, Challenging, and Pro. You have to slide the tiles to complete the picture. I found it easier when I turned on the numbers for the tiles. The music is probably soothing for other players but I felt the music is sleepy and made me even more frustrated when I kept turning around the tiles to get to the correct sequence. Each level has different sizes - 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and 9x9. I quite enjoyed playing such a short game but I started to get impatient with 9x9 with the sleepy music. And I always stuck at the last two rows like a cat keeps chasing its tail, trying to keep sliding the numbers in a circular mode so that I won't mess up those top rows which are in correct sequence.

I got this game as part of a bundle. I would pay the whole dollar for the game. Yeah, its just slider puzzles. I hate(d) slider puzzles, but after playing this I actually figured them out. They be fun. My hand? Feels broken after all the clicking. My heart? Feels broken as the journey is done. 11/10, or as IGN would put it: 7.4/10, needs more cats.

really enjoying this slide stories series :) hope there's more to come. the game itself is simple, a slide puzzle game with 5 different difficulties but the artwork and soundtrack make it something charming and special.

Cute artwork, and relaxing music... and most of all cat! <3 Though the title says story, there really isn't much of a story to enjoy here, just pretty and cute artwork. The puzzle difficulty ranged from beginner(3x3) to pro(9x9), but for slide puzzles the difficulty actually never changes. Because no matter how big the puzzle became, the rules are the same, we only work around 2x2 to 2x3 area to move the pieces around... so the difficulty didn't really go up when there's more pieces, just the time needed to move the pieces goes up with more pieces to move about... But nevertheless, the options are there so it's more on how long you wish to spend on the puzzle and not how much brain juice it will squeeze from you. The good thing about this type of puzzle is, after a shuffle it's a brand new game again. So it will never goes old and the replayability is very high. Recommended for puzzle beginner to learn the basic of how puzzles work generally, even the 9x9 shouldn't be hard once you learn the rules.

I'm a little biased regarding that one as in the end you only have 6 pictures, without story and 5 difficulties for each. I think it's a bit lacking, though I still consider it being ok for its price and can occupy you for a moment. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2347914113 As usual, my attention span is terrible and I keep either forgetting when a game is running or pausing to watch something, so don't take in account my play time, I think you can easily be done with every difficulty for each picture in an hour or so.

[th]MY RATING:[/th] [th] 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 ✘ [/th] [th]9 / 10[/th]

A little story about a supposedly simple sliding puzzle game or a day in the office... Slide puzzle game, hmmm. It feels like it's been over 40 years since I last played something like this. Then we want to see if the game can still be played at an advanced age and with declining eyesight. The game offers a total of "only" 6 different images, but 5 levels of difficulty. From relaxing to pro, everything is included. As a "newcomer" and playing during working hours, the relaxing mode is clearly a good choice, which is limited to just 9 puzzle pieces. It's easy to do and can be done relatively quickly, so nothing stands in the way of the Easy Mode and I already know the pictures. It's always the same. Even with the now 16 parts, it's still quite good, but then it's a bit more sliding around. Fun mode. Sounds good, I thought. Uff, so now with the same picture and the same size 24 parts. Yeah, it's about time to show the helping numbers because it gets a bit small for the bad eyes. In the meantime I've finally arrived at the challenging mode. When I move the now 36 parts wildly by clicking, the office next door suddenly calls: "hey man, are you playing clicker heroes again?" I'll call you back: "I don't give a fck about clicker heroes. I play such a "relaxed" sliding puzzle game" "A sliding what? Wait, isn't that a toddler game?" Me again: "pfff, this is not for small children. The puzzle now has 36 parts..:" " And after a short time, 2 colleagues are in my office and, as is always the case, comments like “ah, you can’t do anything”, “man, that’s really easy” and so on. And they're off again with the comment "I have to try this myself now, but I'll play it in Pro Mode right away". The pro mode... 81 pieces with the same images and their size. Yes... From the wild clicking, curse and scold from the two offices, I gathered that it wasn't as easy as some people had imagined. Well yes 🤣 All in all it's a really fun game and not to be underestimated, at least as far as the more difficult modes are concerned. It was fun, thanks for the game and the fun day at the office 😊

MY PROS AND CONS: ✅ 5 levels of difficulty ✅ nice pictures ❌ actually none

PLAYED WITH: 🖱

⮩ VISIT ME IN MY LITTLE WORLD

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1346250/
