I had a blast playing this. Killing dinosaurs as a wizard is the best thing ever!

If I could rate neutral I'd rather do that, but for 27 cents on sale what do you really have to lose anyway? A simple, harmless game with a few annoying quirks. You need to use the mouse to click to add stat points, which is never explained, and if you don't increase your speed you get a weird disjointed movement since the player moves when the arrow key is released rather than pressed. The game is very stale very quickly since you just shoot at dinosaurs and collect money until you randomly stumble across the five magical stones. A formulaic but mildly amusing game that takes under an hour to complete and has minimal replay value.

I paid $0.43 CAD for this game so I wasn't expecting more than a little diversion.
The game is simple enough, move NESW and shoot with the 4 arrows, plus an area spell that costs mana.
I tried to finish it three times, every time the game randomly teleports me somewhere and I die. So... I have to say that due to bugs that make it unplayable I must say "Do Not Recommend".
I don't feel good negging a game I got this cheap, but I can't play it, so...

3/29/22 Edit: The game was updated to include three achievements -- all of which worked for me. Thanks for the update! This is one of the few games I go back to every so often because it's short, sweet, simple, and a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to JF2.
5/07/21 Edit: I don't know what was different this time, but I was finally able to beat the game without a crash. I'm going to pretend that a bug was fixed so I can upvote the game, because I thought it was a lot of fun. My only complaint now is that I didn't get the achievement when I won :[
4/22/21 Edit: I'm sorry, I really like the game, but I have to recommend against it at this point because it keeps crashing before I can finish it.
Original Review: I'm really enjoying this game, but each time I play, the game ends up going to a black screen at some random point (typically ~10-20 minutes in) and it shows a picture of a sad computer. There's no way to back out of that and return to the game. I wouldn't mind so much if there was a way to save/not start over every time it happens. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Ah, verily, I have resolved in the depths of my wearied heart that for the moment, I shall not partake in this grand spectacle, this game of endless turns and fleeting joys. For lo, I do not yet possess the faculties to grasp its magnitude, nor do I have the strength to see beyond the veil of its illusion, as I stand here, adrift in the murky waters of my own state. The mind, in its current form, doth not comprehend such wonders, for the soul itself is yet an unpolished stone, and the spirit too raw to behold its true nature.
As Dostoevsky once lamented, “Man is what he eats,” and in my case, I have not yet tasted the bread of experience nor imbibed the wine of wisdom, nor felt the tempest of passion that stirs the heart to its full measure. How can one, unseasoned by time, partake in such a feast without first tasting the bitter fruits of life? Nay, I shall wait, as Kafka himself mused, “The meaning of life is that it ends,” and so too shall my understanding of this grand game come in its own appointed time, when the burdens of existence have carved their mark upon my soul, and I have evolved, matured, and bloomed into the full realization of what it means to be human.
For now, I shall linger in quiet contemplation, for it is not yet the season for my heart to leap in joyous rapture at the game’s call. Not yet, no. The day shall come, though, when I, with the weight of feeling and thought, shall be able to savor the Jurassic fantasy in all its grandeur, when my spirit hath tasted both grief and ecstasy, and found peace amidst the chaos of existence. Yet, until that day arrives, I remain distant, wondering… as Dostoevsky once pondered, “What is hell? I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love.” And perhaps in that, I too am bound—until I have loved, only then can I know the game.
As for now, my friend, the answer to thy question? I too shall ask one day, but not today.

I really enjoyed this game!
At first I completely missed that you could put points into your stats by clicking on them so I moved around at the lowest speed, attack and defense which, needless to say, didn't go well at all.
However, once I figured out how to increase stats it became 100x more enjoyable!
I eagerly await Jurassic Fantasy II!

I paid 39 pence for this game, and I felt I got reasonable value considering that. I took 60 mins playing through the game without major issues, but then looked up how to find the final stone (the top left one out of the five) from someone else's speedrun video because I'd searched around the map including circumnavigating the island on my raft and was getting a bit bored.
In general it's fine, mostly it's more of a maze game than anything else, the combat is just run away and shoot magic balls at stuff, and there are a few shops and special places scattered around with some more powerful items and enemies available in other parts of the map. Graphics are limited but that's very much part of the idea. The range of enemies is fun although again, the combat mechanics are quite limited. Because of this, the main interest is in exploring the map and seeing new areas as you go.
In terms of what can be improved, there are a number of quality-of-life additions that would really help. Tagging showing help to the H key would have made it quicker to find it at the start. I did not initially realise that the raft was a raft, as opposed to a crate, so I think tagging the items in the shops with the name of the item would also be helpful. I think it would've been cool if the minimap had filled in with some of the rough idea of the terrain as you "discovered" it, too: the maze element is sort of nice but clashes a bit with the RPG side overall.
In terms of expansions or future games, I'd have liked to see a bit more world building and some more NPCs to interact with: it seems like it might be quite fun to have some more ambient people and houses you just walked up to and had them give you something very minimal and maybe complained about all the dinosaurs or something. I liked the "end boss" section a lot, that was a nice touch, but yes, generally a bit more leaning into the RPG elements would have been good from my perspective. Also, the lack of ankylosaurus was very sad and it would be nice to see those in future.
