2.4 hours of fun :D After Celeste, this was a nice little throwback! 10/10 The Achievements are glitched tho? It isn't showing up on my 100% List or any Achievement List on my profile. Idk what's wrong with it.

Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 5/5 Notes: Fun simple platformer, achievements offer decent challenges for more playtime. Just playing through without going for achievements would be about 45 minutes to an hour of playtime. All achievements would be about 3-4 hours play time.

Every level is a single screen and takes seconds to complete, but the variety of mechanics and clever level design, combined with extremely solid controls makes for an incredibly enjoyable experience from start to finish. The game is designed with speed-running in mind and will automatically track your time through each of the 5 zones and 100 levels. The icing on the cake is the wonderful music by Failpositive. -SPROUT- is a short experience, but if you love fast paced platformers like Celeste and Super Meatboy, you'll enjoy every minute of it.

To put it simply, Sprout is a very focused game. It is a very minimalist platformer that has been distilled to give you a pure platforming experience perfect for speedrunning and those that like to challenge themselves. It's a short game but the replayability comes from the want to master each level. You know what you're in for when you play Sprout - a mini platforming puzzle with no frills attached. The graphics, music, presentation, and juice is all there (I'm a big fan of the visuals and how the game is presented.) but you can tell it is a game that strips down the unnecessary to provide a pure lesson in platforming and game design. It's good at what it does. It's precise, simple and it is easy to want to run each mini level again and again to get a better time/score. The leaderboards are a great incentive to want to strive for the number one position. If only I wasn't so bad at platformers.

Sprout is easily one of my favourite bitesize platformers out there, its a simple 2d platformer with a dash mechanic, featuring 5 worlds each with their own gimmicks. The gameplay is simple yet fluid and each level is relatively short, the achievements to speedrun and flawlessly do everything, both work really well for how simple yet clever the level design is, its speedy on purpose and it flows really well, and within each world the gimmicks thrown in take time to adjust to but still aren't overwhelming and do their purpose very well to add some variety to the mix. The graphics ill admit feel a tad simple, and spikes can blend in a little sometimes but it isn't too much of an issue plus the game risks losing its simplicity if it were more complex so, who knows? The music is astonishingly good for a small short indie platformer, especially the abyss zone, i was crazily shocked to hear how good it sounds, the game excels in this department and can't praise it enough. Overall the game is just generally really solid, allowing for casual players to take their time and figure things out and for more advanced players to whizz through and push themselves for deathless/speedrun achievements, absolutely pick this up whenever you can.

Fun precision platformer! I needed a little under 5 hours to 100% everything. There are 5 stages in total -- each one with a couple dozen screens or so. It's one of those games where you die a lot until you develop a consistent strategy for each screen, and then it's just a matter of execution. If you're into speedrunning and tricky platforming, give this a shot.

-SPROUT- is a concentrated burst of platforming goodness. If you enjoy precision platformer games such as Celeste and are looking for a new challenge, look no further! I had a lot of fun jamming to the music and trying to complete the levels as quickly and as precisely as I could. The game may be short, but has great replayability and offers you the chance to compete for a spot on the leaderboard. I feel the game offers a lot of value, and I highly recommend it!

If speedrunning is your thing, this is the game for you. This Micro-Platformer, similar to "Celeste" is easy to pick up, but hard to master. The controls are fair and accurate (However, you will find yourself getting enraged when you make a mistake). Each world can take up to 25 min, depending on speed, and you'll find yourself coming back to it to improve your time. The simplicity of each level may lead many to think the game is straightforward, but each level is has a unique challenge that you need to overcome. If a speedrunning platformer is something your interested in, then this is the game for you. Edit: I have slaved away at the game. For anyone reading reviews in 2021, I am the best -SPROUT- player to every exist, dont let anyone tell you otherwise okay? <3

Somehow, it speaks all Sonic to me - some tunes remind me of Gene Gadget, some of the Endless Mine Zone, and you're apparently gathering the local flavors of the Ultra Powerful Gemstones. Hidden gem for the speedrun-minded players.

Overall, as I guy who mostly plays platfromers, I enjoyed -SPROUT-. The game is very nicely done, although it only took me half an hour to beat the first time. Grinding for leaderboards/finding collectables is pretty fun though! I'd say it'll take you 4-5 hours to complete the game 100% Art is noice, music is even better. Gameplay is not frustrating (levels are very short = no punishment for death). Nicely done.
