Stray is a beautiful game that is richly detailed and very atmospheric, but what impressed me the most is how the developers absolutely NAILED the cat mannerisms. It actually felt like playing as a cat and not just controlling a cat shaped model. My own cat passed away the year Stray was released, so I initially avoided this game because it was too sad to look at anything cat related. I’m glad I finally picked it up, but the natural way the cat interacts with the world did still make me cry, bringing up memories of my cat- any cat owner will recognize bits of their own cat here. If you’re interested in Stray based on its Overwhelmingly Positive review score, just keep in mind that the gameplay isn’t crazy innovative and it is linear in structure. It’s primarily a walking sim, with some very light puzzling- the novelty of playing as a cat in an immersive setting is the point here. Really, my only complaint is that the game autosaves with no option for manual saving. This is generally not a problem- BUT! If you plan on replaying a chapter to get the memories you’ve missed (before completing the game), I highly encourage you to finish up whatever chapter you're currently on, and then make it to the next chapter first. That way you can pick up at that point once you’re finished backtracking via chapter select. Otherwise, your autosave will be overridden while in the chapter you’ve gone back to. I absolutely still recommend Stray if you love animals and enjoy exploring video game spaces. If the developers make a follow up game, I’ll absolutely buy it!

Stray isn’t just a game it’s a feeling. I felt like I was really there, a lonely cat wandering through a forgotten cyberpunk city, surrounded by cold neon lights and quiet, broken robots. The atmosphere is incredible — melancholic, cozy, alive. The music hits deep, and the visuals feel like art you just want to sit with. More than once I caught myself just standing still, listening to the rain or staring out a window. This game leaves a mark soft, like silent paws on a rooftop. Highly recommended.

This is a very unique game that combines immersive cyberpunk style environments with stealth and parkour abilities of a feline creature. The music sets a good ambience for the setting, and the short but sweet story of a cat in the world of cyberpunk is one adventure you do not want to miss out on. Although the price is steep for such a short game, it is even more worth it on sale as every detail, scene, and game play - straight from the get go: gets you hooked. (which is rare in games nowadays where it might take a couple hours before the game feels fun and you get used to it) My only wish was that we could explore the city once we beat the game like an open world style to incorporate some replay-ability into the mix.

While the visuals are amazing, the story lacks depth and is predictable. The gameplay is okay. To sum it up: it's the perfect game for those who don't usually play video games.

The beginning of this game almost made me cry! That's so rare. I need to give this a good review just for that! But of course, there's also more to it than being emotional. Everything is so beautiful and detailed. The graphics are perfect! The cat meows are really cute. You bet one of my first achievements was "Meow 100 times." So much love and care was put into making this cat simulator. It's short and memorable. If you love kitties, especially orange ones, then you have found what you are looking for. Every lover of cats deserves to play this at least once in their life! This review could be longer, but this is as much as I can write about it for now. I haven't fully finished the game, and probably won't come back for a while with all that I have in the library, so I wanted to go ahead and drop my positive review. Overwhelmingly Positive rating is well deserved!

Some games don’t just entertain — they touch something deep inside you. Stray was one of those games for me. It became a memory, and a piece of my heart. My boyfriend was the first to recommend it to me — just a few days after we met. I didn’t know then how much this little game about a lost cat would come to mean to me, or how much it would reflect the quiet, beautiful beginnings of something new in my life. Not long after we started dating, I played it. He had already finished it, but he wanted to watch me go through it for the first time — not to guide me, just to be there. And I’m such an emotional person... I cried a lot. And he watched, gently, as I felt every moment, every connection, every piece of that world. Every reunion, every escape, every quiet, emotional beat hit me so hard. I laughed. I cried. I paused to look at the beauty of the world. And the entire time, he was right there, watching me experience it for the first time, with so much love and warmth. Stray is delicate and raw in its storytelling. You play as a cat — small, agile, and completely alone — navigating a forgotten city full of machines and echoes of what once was. But it’s not just a game about a cat. It’s a story about loss, loneliness, companionship, and hope. It’s about finding light in the darkest corners and never giving up, even when the world feels too broken to fix. Along the way, you meet robots — some friendly, some mysterious, others trapped in their own struggles. These robots aren’t just background characters; they add a beautiful layer of emotion and humanity to this otherwise cold city. Their stories make the world feel alive and give you reasons to care. One of the most special parts is the bond you form with your little drone companion, B-12. More than just a helper, B-12 feels like a true friend — offering support, unlocking secrets, and silently sharing the journey with you. That quiet companionship adds so much heart to the experience. -Playing as a cat is surprisingly emotional. The animations are perfect — every jump, meow, stretch, and stumble feels alive. -The cyberpunk world is beautiful and lonely at once. The art direction is breathtaking. Every alley, every rooftop has its own soul. -The storytelling is subtle, but it hits hard — especially if you let yourself slow down and feel. -The music is gentle, melancholic, and perfectly timed to guide your emotions. -The bond with B-12 adds warmth and companionship that stays with you throughout the journey. 👍 Pros Emotionally rich, even without traditional dialogue Genuinely touching and quietly profound Beautifully crafted world full of secrets and atmosphere Cat mechanics that feel authentic and charming A story that stays with you long after it ends 👎 Cons Relatively short (about 5–6 hours) Might feel too slow-paced for players looking for action Light in difficulty (but that’s not the point of this game) 🖤 Final Thoughts Stray is a game about a lost cat. But it’s also a game about being lost, finding your way, and letting yourself feel everything along the path. For me, it’s not just one of the most beautiful games I’ve played — it’s also a memory wrapped in love, emotion, and quiet comfort. I’ll always associate it with the early days of my relationship, with someone who saw me cry over a game and held space for me to feel it all. If you're an emotional person like me — if you love stories that don't need words to break your heart and heal it at the same time — play this game. Let it take you on its journey. Let it stay with you. I know it did for me.

If you are a cat person, this is a must game for you. The story is amazing, cat noises are the cutest and the whole world is absolutely gorgeous. Especially the way they used the light in Slums. Will definitely play it more than once.

I waited a while to review this game, but the truth is, it's one of the better games I've played in recent memory. The atmosphere, characters, and sense of freedom create a perfect vibe, something you can genuinely relax with, without having to stress or try too hard to complete. What really stood out to me was how immersive the world feels. The game doesn't push you in any one direction, it lets you explore at your own pace, which makes the experience feel personal. Whether you're just wandering around soaking in the scenery or engaging with the characters, there's always a sense of purpose. The characters stories unfold naturally, and you actually want to spend time getting to know them. It’s not just about ticking off quests, it’s about being part of a world that feels alive and meaningful. The soundtrack and ambient sounds deserve an applause as well. They perfectly complement the mood of the game, helping you get lost in it for hours without even realizing. Cant forget about "Morusque" either, listening to her guitar strum was always relaxing. Overall, this is the kind of game you return to when you want to unwind and escape. It just invites you in, and that’s what makes it so special.

Stray is a game where you play as a cat. Just… a regular little orange cat with a tiny backpack. You fall into a forgotten cyber city full of flickering neon, rusted alleyways, and robots trying their best to be human. Your overall goal is to get back to your feline friends. Along the way, you’ll nap in cozy corners, knock over bottles for no reason, meow at strangers, and occasionally run for your life from unsettling sci-fi bugs! Normal feline activities. The city itself steals the show. Every alley feels like it has a story. Every robot you meet is quirky, curious, or quietly lonely. There's no giant plot twist waiting at the end, but the world-building and atmosphere do the heavy lifting. And somehow, despite everything being rusted and broken, it feels oddly hopeful. Yes, it’s a short game, you can easily finish it in an afternoon or over a couple of evenings but that’s part of its charm. It doesn’t try to stretch itself thin or overstay its welcome. It’s the kind of story that settles in quietly, like a cat curling up beside you, and then stays in your thoughts for days, soft, subtle, and unexpectedly moving. Definitely give it a try! <3
