Most fun I’ve had with an indie game in a long time. This game allows and is built to encourage creativity in character builds. Once in a blue moon it can get a little buggy (my friend and I ran into an issue where the next portion of the level didn’t line up with where we currently were so we couldn’t walk on it to progress. This was fixed with a simple game reboot). I usually wait for games that I’m not sure about to go on sale, this one was no different. As of this review and my purchase amount the game is half off at $9.99 USD. Given how much fun I’ve had thus far I would have been happy to pay retail, so if you don’t have apprehension about a $20 price tag when it’s at full price, pull the trigger. This game is worth it.

As a lifelong fan of tactical RPGs, Stolen Realm feels pretty good. The challenge can be ramped up (or down) depending on your preference as a player. The wide skill tree gives you a lot to fiddle with so you can build your party to match your play style. The combat fits roughly between Wildermyth and Divinity/Baldurs Gate from a mechanical perspective. The "1 or none" AP cost for skills gives a lot of flexibility in what actions to take as your characters level; and every character feels useful in the party in (almost) every fight. I do havea. few quibbles: - It would be neat to have more verticality in the maps (hills, cliffs, etc) - The story and writing doesn't seem to have had as much investment as the combat. - When shopping or picking rewards in roguelike you can't access your character and inventory menu. - It seems like you get _one_ save slot for roguelike mode, so your online game will wipe your local playthrough, which would have been nice to know before I started a new run to show a friend the game after I finished world 4. Oops.

Turn based dungeon crawler. Can play solo on coop. You can build a party of up to 6 and set stats and skills. As you progress in level, you can tinker with the stats and skills. Graphics are simple but do the job. Only downsides are that max level is 30 as far as additional stats and skills. Also the roguelike option was not what I expected.

Found a great game to play with my wife. The way the class system works allows a great variety in character roles. level ups feel vary important and while the story is less than engaging the rest of the game play more than makes up for it.

Fails at having "the tactical depth of Divinity". There are some interesting ideas in how one can build a character, but the way the build points are drip-fed doesn't get there in a reasonable amount of time. The combats are a slog with few interesting decisions trees or opportunity costs to make it feel like my decisions really mattered. This feels especially egregious given that this game really doesn't have anything going for it but the combat.

After 20 hours of play, I can safely say I like this game. I've been playing it in a group setting and it definitely scratches that min-maxing itch. Building a character is a lot of fun.

The game is abandoned. Many basic bugs that should be fixed in the first or second week are not touched. The net code is horrible. Stay away from this game and be wary of any games made by this dev.

Not sure why anyone is mad about the game using procedural generation when it says right there in the main body of the ABOUT THIS GAME section, "After each battle, pick your path between story events, resource gathering, shops and treasure rooms, until you get to the final boss of each procedurally generated adventure." I've had a ton of fun with this game, especially with the seamless multiplayer. The skill building and weapon crafting and upgrading makes for some crazy powerful build combos and multi/split class type builds. The Roguelike mode is challenging with 4-6 players and makes you take a unique approach to how you develop your character. Roguelike mode is also great for seeing and experiencing skills you likely wouldn't otherwise see without a ton of playtime as you level up after every battle and choose from a set of 4 random skills from random classes, so you can potentially end up with Tier 3 skills once you hit level 2 that would otherwise take 4-5+ levels to access. It's also easy to jump in, make a quick run and jump back out for a quick fix.
