TL:DR: For .49 cents USD, you get to run a cake truck with your raccoon buddy. Full disclosure: I got this on sale for .49 vents USD, and for me it is worth about that. The music is nice enough, the graphics are bright and cheerful and our customers are always smiling at us. The match three mechanic works pretty good, and if you're lucky you can create a chain reaction that helps you out. From earlier reviews it seems like this was a game where you bought power ups with real money at one point? Now there is no store and the only power ups you get is what a level gives to you on the board or what you create. So, it's certainly more challenging than it used to be, I'm guessing. It would be nice if the store was added back in with in game points though. I got to level 30 and although all the added on mechanics were exciting and fun, like the conveyor belt, cookies, deliveries, etc., I'd also seen enough to suit me. Still, for .49 cents USD it's a fun match-three where your best friend is a raccoon.

Elly's Cake Cafe is a basic mobile-app like Match-3 game. More or less an asset flip, the "developer", a known asset flipper and intellectual property abuser has gotten someone's Unity Match-3 template, reskinned it, and is trying to scam PC gamers into buying what's more or less just a really week Candy Crush ripoff. The icing on the cake is the "developer" here has copy + pasted + reskinned this same asset onto Steam quite a few times. While Creobit usually asset flip the same games onto Steam dozens of times, this one has only been asset flipped three times. Here's the other copy + pastes of this asset:

Gem Legends
Gems of the Aztecs
These are reskins of exactly the same game! What value is there in this spam/pollution glutting the Steam store for gamers? From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Elly's Cake Cafe has the farcical price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.

This game is BROKEN! You reach a certain point, and you stop earning power-ups. Once your power-ups run out, the game cannot be completed. Many levels require power-ups to finish. No response on the forums.

Ok in the beginning but power ups are hard to get. Made it to level 65 and now stuck, No idea how to get the 4 outer corner boxes with cookies in them, not great as I won't be playing it anymore. Prefer to finish games I buy, so this is not worth buying.

Cute Match 3 game I bought for $0.49 Have played 13 levels so far- graphics are sweet pretty, the game has an increasing level of difficulty (timed and / or limited number of moves allowed.) Inoffensive music that can be turned off and no bugs. In game achievements only. Definitely worth the sale buy. :) Also ...matches kept happening even after finishing a round, so I think this game played itself a lot more than I played it. xD

It was the fun, casual game alternative to my FB games I missed when I quit my FB addiction, upbeat music, no pressure. I was able to progress fairly quickly being as I'd played many "match 3" type games on FB, which I've sworn off of. It was really fun, a nice escape, however, after about the 40th level, knowing not to be tempted by the "try it now" bonuses, I had to. Then, I couldn't progress any further unless I PURCHASED power-ups/bonuses. I even tried going way back to gain additional points from levels where I didn't get the full 3 stars, nothing. I kept playing, but once you reach a level where you can't possibly pass without buying "extras", it's no fun. I might've paid a small fee upfront to play the game without requiring additional purchases, but at level 70, I'm pretty much done and have NO interest in purchasing items with REAL $ (instead of points) to pass levels.
