Epic game with good price on historical simulation of ww2. Nice AI and variable weapons. Almost everything should have for a ww2 fps game.
BUT:
DO NOT reject the user connection if the PING is high, leave that to the players. Could not find the p2p server created by your steam friend somehow if you live physically far away from each other. May have p2p connection problem to other country. Give the player a full list of server with filters of regions, maps and ppl in the server so on is not a hard UI design.
If you cant play with your friends in a coop pve/pvp why bother

I would give this game a "so-so" if there was an option. I keep returning to this game, and I think it might just not really be for me. I think the concept is great and the dev has done some excellent work with selecting theaters of battle and implementing some smaller oft-forgotten parts of WW2. The gameplay is clunky, but it is a very cheap game.
Where it actually loses me is that actually sitting down and playing through a campaign is extremely tedious, and if I had to give it a rating it would maybe be a 6 or 7 out of ten being brutally honest gameplay wise. Accounting for cost, I think it would be more of an 8. I don't see why one would play this over Hell Let Loose, "Arma WW2 funtime #362", or even just Rising Storm 2. Hell, Rising Storm 1.
I think it fits a similar niche to Running With Rifles, and if you're looking for something that's cheap and easy to run - then I think it's worth picking up and trying out. For me, it isn't realistic enough or 'easy to jump into' enough to justify playing. The comparisons to battlefield are downright bizarre... it's more like a jank Red Orchestra

I didn't play for 22 hours. The game was just up while paused. Having said that, this is the perfect game for us older folk who want to enjoy a war game without having to compete against really good players. There is an online mode if you want more competition, however, the offline play is really enjoyable. My only complaint is that the enemies all spawn on 1 location and it makes for easy picking. I just let the enemy get into the areas a little before engaging.

Wow wow WOW now THIS is a real hidden gem.
Haven't played multiplayer, but the single player is something to behold. If this really is a one man project like I've read, than this is one of the most impressive games I've come across recently.
Pick one of the campaigns, and be sure to turn up your maximum proportional units as high as you can. The default settings are set to keep the game moving, but it makes the massive maps feel just a little too empty. When you jack it up, though, it's a seriously impressive thing to behold. Carnage all around, and you are not the main character, just another soldier on the battlefield doing your part.
I've also purchased the Normandy DLC, and wow, what an amazing set of maps so far. Storming the beaches of Normandy was a goddamn blast.
The game is cheap, there's plenty of content, and the passion really shines through in every aspect.
I highly recommend this game.

Simply put - if you remember, love, and miss the chaotic battles of the best WW2 games of yore, before microtransactions and historical inaccuracies ruined the genre, and you want to join an awesome community catered to by an amazing indie developer who continues to work and rework their game to the betterment of all who play it…. you want this game.
See you on the battlefields.

To be honest, i purchased this thinking it would be a fine game that would become better with time so i would try it, ask for a refund then wait for a better sale (60% or more).
After playing it, i must say that i'm impressed, as far as i know, the team working behind this game isn't huge, yet the game is better than those that have hundred of people or more working on them, i'm especially talking about the so called AAA game developers, but in the end, the problem comes mostly from the publishers / corporations.
Anyway, game is great, it does have a fine amount of content and then there's the Steam workshop to get more content.
I do hope that they plan on releasing an italian faction and perhaps more factions, weapons and campaigns / maps.
Gameplay feels good, a mix between arcade and simulation, a bit similar to games such as Day of Infamy, Red Orchestra 2, Operation Harsh Doorstep, etc...
AI could use some work though.

I swear, every time I boot this game up for a quick battle it improves in some way.
Whether that be graphics, sounds, maps, replay-ability, historical accuracy - you name it. This game is *always* improving.
I am excited to see where this project ends up!

Long story short: it's a great game, if you really like suffering.
There's really 3 main pieces of gameplay, Infantry, Planes, and Tanks, and 1 mechanic, Artillery.
The game essentially has Easy, Normal, and “Realistic” mode. Easy & Normal have unlimited stamina, and explosions are smaller. On Realistic, you have pretty low stamina, and explosions are larger, no matter the source. I have not noticed a health difference.
Artillery is requested by the squad Captain, and called in by the radioman. It is usually AP (for tanks), HE (for infantry), and smoke (for concealment).
Infantry is always enjoyable against other infantry. It events out fairly well, since about every squad has the same basic sort of set-up. Captain, Radioman, Medic, Specialist, and some guys with an average rifle (usually bolt-action). "Specialists" depend on the type of squad. It, depending on the nation and squad, will be an MG, shotgun (if you're American), flamethrower, AT gun, etc.
All this fun comes to an end when you meet a tank, or come under fire of artillery. Artillery obliterates you. Small-arms and normal grenades do no damage to tanks. If you don’t have an AT gun on your side (or sometimes, even if you do), you will have a hell of a time trying to defeat it. There are AT grenades in some grenade boxes around the map, but no one spawns with an AT grenade really (some really late war AT units will have AT grenades, but that's about it). You can request tank support (but you don’t always have friendly tanks), and you can’t request air support. Half the time, you can’t even request artillery because it’s not in that mission or campaign. (I might have a biased view, but many missions seem to have Allied tanks outnumbering Axis tanks).
Additionally, each faction per campaign has some sort of gimmick. Ex. Italians have impact grenades, Americans in the Pacific have shotguns, etc.
Despite some challenges, infantry is still my favorite part of the game.
Planes are fairly simple. Controls for direction are aim-based, but you control the throttle. Dogfights are hard to die in, but also hard to win. The distances and bullet drop are difficult enough to balance while also flying that you need to find a way to bait the other plane into coming really close to you. Most of the time, you win a dogfight by killing the pilot instead of destroying their plane. Most of the time, when you die by an enemy plane, it’s because they caught you while you were strafing a target or you’ve had a mid-air collision.
I have yet to ever be shot down by ground-troops and tanks can’t aim high enough to hit you. Strafing infantry is very easy, and tactically useful. Most of the time, AA guns actually aim for ground-targets, but they will aim for you if you are flying low enough (usually when you're strafing).
Bombing runs are hard, but I suppose that is in-line with real life. Can’t really complain about it too much.
If you have a plane that comes without bombs and you need to take out a tank that’s messing up friendly ground troops, kamikaze-ing works surprisingly well.
TANKS. Most tank combat is challenging, but rewarding. But, the enemy tanks automatically know the best place to aim, while you don’t. It may be hard to figure it out at first, but it gets easier. They are also far better at aiming than you, so you’ll need to act quick. But, for the most part, it’s rather balanced if you know what you’re doing and where to aim. Face front towards the enemy tank that’s firing at you, and aim for their rear (that’s where all the important stuff is).
BUT, the German side of the North African campaign will make you loath tank warfare. Any time you play as any kind of Axis tank and face a British Churchill, you will be obliterated. It is the one piece of tank warfare in this game that I LOATH. The Churchill is an absolute monster of a tank, and is the one part of this game that I actually dislike. It is utterly broken in the hands of bots.
Still, for a 1-man dev. team, it’s a pretty cool game.
Extra things of note: AI can't see through bushes. This is a nice touch, as this is weirdly uncommon in a lot of games.

If you want to play a really fun and authentic WWII game, but would rather play PVE and avoid the P2W, online toxic player bases, elitist and gate-keeping player bases. This is it and a must have for any WWII enthusiast and players. As gamer from the mid 80's I can appreciate a time where developers would put out solid games, that allowed the option of playing online, while still focusing on a full game experience with the base game vs AI.
It's very affordable, the devs are constantly updating, DLCs are regular, and can be run on lower end spec PCs.
You can pilot, drive, and operate any machine from 1939-1945, including 3rd person and first person mode, where you can shoot any weapon from the era. All theaters of the war are represented, with all Axis and Allied factions represented authentically. You can go through historical campaigns alone, or with a buddy online. You can even create your own scripted scenarios. What else could you ask for?
a solid recommendation from me.
