I don't play this kind of game often, but this one seemed intersting enough and with an attractive price, so I gave it a shot and it was a very rightly one. But take this review as from a newcomer.
The characters are fun and charismatic and history is intring. You eager to solve the mystery and connect to the characters right from their first appearence. It has some good pop culture references to help the immersion. It's not long too, so you can try different pieces of dialogue in new runs.
The game freezes a little. It doesn't crash, but you have to load it again. It's not a huge problem since we usually save a lot on this kind of game, but it would be good see it solved in the future. But again, not a huge issue.
Pretty enjoyable. 8/10

The dictionary defines superlative as: of the highest kind, quality, or order, surpassing all else, or others. Supreme.
I define it as Johnny Mystery. As a game, as a detective story, it is of the highest kind, quality, and order. Supreme.

This game stopped working at the same point two times. I thought the first time it stopped working was a fluke, so I made a new game, but the second game stopped working at the same spot :/

The game is too simple. Only one puzzle and it is super easy.
I had to re-load the game many times because it would just suddenly stop. I tried to see the ending twice but it always froze after the credits and I gave up at the end.

While I love detective mysteries and this type of game, and this game does have good characters and a mystery I would like to solve, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this game. Odd moments where no text pops up at all, or text gets gobbled by other text, or if you're looking through your notebook - you're actually also going through dialogue in the background. While the log button lets you review what you missed,t his shouldn't happen in the first place.
But the biggest let down was a random bug (that the dev does know about) where the game just freezes with nothing happening and no way to carry on. Reloading a save will not fix it. Instead, you have to restart from the very beginning, and HOPE that it doesn't happen again. It's a craps shoot. It first happened with the Rastafarian security guard guy - which I found in the discussions of the game. I figured: alright, as long as it's just once, whatever.
But then it happened again with the couple, the girl with a polka dot dress and flowers and the boy with a monkey hoodie. I am not gonna restart the entire game again just in the hopes it doesn't happen again - now for two different occasions.
I only got the game during the 79 cent sale, so I won't look for a refund. But even at 79 cents, seek elsewhere for a detective game that actually works. Detective Di is quite good. Or if ya want an indie game: Master Magistrate is quite fun and brings heavy Ace Attorney vibes.

The game was exactly what I expected. A quick look at the reviews and you can determine if it's a good pick for you.
There is a particular bug I encountered (can't say if it's the same other people was complaining about) when the security guy gets angry. (╬ Ò﹏Ó)
The screen froze and I had to start over a new game to get past the scene (thanks for the quick text advance feature).(⌒▽⌒)☆
Other than that, I finished the game 2 times to get my waifus' memento (too bad not all the girls have the same level of LEWD on the ending pic).
Amazing art, fitting music, great story. Could improve the controls and fix the angry dude bug.
Hope to see more games (or horny fanart ( ´ ▽ ` ).。o♡ ) with this gang.

Nice soundtrack and art. Amazing characters! (wish the game was longer because of them)
The game has a little of a Date Sim mechanic and I sincerely believed it would determine the flow of the story, but in my second run I found out it only changes the reward you win at the end. The route change is based on the dialog choices and the solution of the crime.
To get the puzzle solved, I had to literally use pen and paper. At first it seemed a bad way to implement the logic problem in the game design, but it can be forgiven by the way the story presents it to the player. I end up thinking of using pen and paper at the final scene as a smart low budget way of the game breaking the fourth wall.
The game freezes sometimes. I got it 3 times in 2 runs. Doesn't crash the game, but I had to reload my save. I recommend anyone to save frequently.
8/10 - OK to pay full price.

And now let me explain why I do not recommend this game !IN ITS CURRENT STATE!. (I naively hope for future improvements and updates, eh).
The good parts:
- The artstyle.
- The writing.
- The characters.
The bad parts:
- Everything technical; the game terminates is you press ESC, certain buttons are impossible to interact with during the playthrough, the music blares like a military alarm and cannot be switched on/off properly, interacting with the notes is such a pain in the butt... and that's only the beginning of the list.
- The translation; some parts of it are quite acceptable and thumbs-up-worthy, while others feel like they've been machine-translated or something like that. That's a bit sad V_V
So yeah. You can get the game anyways since it's cheap and all, but I really hope there'll be future improvements down the road. The concept itself is definitely nice.
(plus I do require more of the waifus, ahem...)
