NICE STORY. EASY TO GET TO THE POSITIVE ENDING UNLIKE A LOT OTHER VISUAL NOVELS WITH MULTIPLE ENDINGS. ANOTHER SEX SCENE ATLEAST AT THE END, AS THEIR IS ONLY ONE, AFTER HE DECIDES TO STAY WITH HIS NEW CLOSE FRIEND AND BROTHER WOULD HAVE MADE THIS STORY MORE ENTERTAINING THAN JUST FAST FORWARDING THE STORY TO THE END WITH A SUMMARY OF THE REST OF IT. THIS IS VERY LITTLE SEX FOR A SEX VISUAL NOVEL.. IT'S STILL A NICE STORY AND WORTH READING AS LONG AS YOU DON'T MIND THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE SEX SCENE IN THE MIDDLE IT AND THEREFORE IT'S IN PG AND NOT AS ENTERTAINING FOR THE SECOND HAVE OF IT.

If short romance VNs are to your liking, on top of being at a budget price, then you might consider getting this one rather than a pack of crisps.
Santa Monica Paradise presents a drive-by-romance, where each involved party has a wound to heal, and they only have a weekend to try. The middle-aged protagonist has just gone through a rough divorce, an aspiring jazz musician with a break-up to get over, and a reliable assistant struggling with a one-sided office crush. The available romance routes are fashioned in a more mature, down-to-earth way than a typical high-school romance tryst. Still, this is a brief story, so the romance part feels underdeveloped; it plays more like a prologue to a longer story rather than a complete one. Therefore, the 2 main endings appear fast and feel rushed.
The page description mentions comedy, however, there ain't much comedy here, mostly just casual and polite interactions between recent strangers.
The biggest flaw I can think of, and directly linked to the romantic aspects, is a lack of character development and a more exhaustive backstory. Chance meeting overview with minimal depth.
Another problem is the lazy menu and overall design. The lack of settings on the menu screen gives a wrong initial impression. It certainly falls below modern standards, and a low budget does not excuse that.
The visuals present here are mixed. While the character tachies are fine, the quantity of variations is low. Unless I missed something, there are only 4 CGs total, 2 of which are during h-scenes (all uncensored at least). Moreover, the majority of backgrounds are just blurred photos that look pretty meh. A low budget is more than evident.
The lack of quality and variety of music tracks, especially considering that one of the heroines is a musician, only contributes more to the feeling of wasted potential. Heck, none of the scenes even show her playing. Missed opportunity. No voice acting and no sound effects either.
No bugs encountered.
Overall, despite all the criticism above, for the price asked, it is not the worst VN in terms of story, art, and music. It has budget quality, but it's still enjoyable enough to spend an hour or two with. Tepid recommendation from me: 5.4/10

The game is really simple, and the choices are obvious as can be for the routes you want. It's a bit buggy though, making it annoying. And the characters are pretty simple, so better for achievement seekers.

Charming little summer tale. I just went the Rica path and I was not disappointed. Don´t expect anything too deep, but it´s not bad. Backgrounds look like being hand painted, the avatars are in steep contrast to it by being a moderately western Manga style, but they look just right somehow. Lots of talk about food and about human relationships and having broken up recently.
The weakest part actually was the H-scene: Almost static picture, awful lot ot talk, over and over again with references to food.
I went the Yvette way afterwards, a bit less obvious to take the right choices, but it turned out well in the end. Verdict is quite similar, s*x scene less wordy.
Get this game like you get a slim paperback novel and enjoy a bit of relaxing reading. Nothing more, nothing less.

Very short but at the price you really can do a lot worse. The background music is good, and the character art is well done. That all said, the pacing seems hurried, and while the characters all seem to have a decent amount of backstory to them, their personalities are static the whole way through. The sex scenes as well were a little lacking in a descriptive sense. All in all, while I would not be going out of my way to recommend the game if I was trying to get someone into visual novels, it's still worth the playing for the price.
In future games, I hope to see a lot more character development and story, but the bones are there, it just needs more fleshing out to raise it up a little. Hope the developer keeps working to make more and better VN's

while the sprites look nice and they actually had scenes they really don't fit with the background. also the options not at start and again no gallery. not sure why they refuse to put them in their games. 3/10

the story of the game is bland and has no interest whatsoever. i tried to get into this, but i skipped to the end for the pictures and found myself disappointed with what i got for $3.99, which is a shame

This game is quite short but have a really lovely story and character design. Somehow its easy to relate and feel attached to the characters. I hope the developer will make a sequel or extended story for each route! Thank you!

Santa Monica Paradise is a lewd visual novel
Game-play
Smash through text boxes and make choices every so often — a standard visual novel.
Story
Peter Kellerman is a renowned chef, and he's newly single (and ready to mingle). Pitying his recent divorce, Peter's older brother arranged for him to stay a weekend at his villa. Peter meets an attractive woman, Yvette. She's sort of his guide, whom meets him at the airport. He meets another resident of his brother's villa, America. She's sort of Peter's roomie, and a potential love interest.
Visuals
I. . . was not fond of the titlescreen. It didn't impress me — there is no "options" or "settings" screen, nor even a "gallery" to review CGs. The character portaits look good, but are very unvaried. The backgrounds clash with the anime styled ladies, and they struck me as cheap. Anyone could slap a filter or two on a photo and recreate the backgrounds in this game.
- The Goods -
The CGs are well drawn, but there's no way to review them without crafty use of the "save" system. Expect male-on-female sexual content.
Verdict
Sure, grab this game on sale. If you're lookin' for a lewd time you'll be a sad camper — lewd scenes are few and far between, and clearly not he focus of this game. If they are. . . well, maybe next time eh developers?

Cute little visual novel. Very romantic. Touches of comedy. Two girls you can romance. Both tales are good. And with the free patch, you will get one love scene per girl.
Fully recommend.
