Joyful moments => throwing heavy TVs, speakers, computers over fences because you can't jump with them.
Mindlessly grabbing all (mostly cheap) items in sight. Eventually figuring out NPCs routine and clearing out their building.
Angry moments => being spotted from far-afar (!), being heard from a great distance. Guards can see you with the back of their heads. -_-

American Theft 80s is a really nice game. Its story is as simple as possible - you're a thief and must steal things.
As you move from one neighbourhood to another, your equipment gets better i.e. instead of crude hammer and simple lockpicks you'll get access to a crowbar, window cutter, electronic devices and even safe cracking gear. And, every lock is a different mini-game. Awesome!
The items increase in prices e.g. forget about cheap headphones, shoes, yoink that expensive computer mouse! Shove silver plates and sculptures into your backpack and make thousands of $$$. Be bold and sneak in during a day time!

Not sure if it's the game engine fault or what, but there are multiple bugs. NPCs can get stuck in a position. The same guard may hear you crawling, even though you're completely quiet, but then may ignore you running right behind.
Disguises never worked for me at all, had to go full stealth in the Mayor Mansion mission, for instance.
Moreover, sleeping NPCs aren't that sleeping. They can suddenly noclip through beds, walls, even doors and then they spot you... hello alarm! =/

The game may feel a bit repetitive, especially if you accept all requests and decide to clear out EVERYTHING. You will have to go in many times due to a small backpack capacity. And then when you return you will find that previously asleep owners now marching across kitchen with that sweet 'n pricey microwave... but changing challenge is why I played it in the first place - to break in and steal goodies. I enjoyed it!
p.s. it often goes on sale, so totally worth its discount price.
