The game has a lot of bugs but playing as a raccoon on a skateboard with a crossbow. Hell Yeah :)

This game i do NOT recommend, I find this game has lots of content yet lots of bugs and poor mechanics, overall this game had potential but from the bugs to parts of the game that leave you puzzled due to lack of explanation this game is not what the trailers make it out to be, Not Recommended.

Oh how i wanted to like this game! The people that know me know that i am a huge fan of raccoons. Autism hyperfixation nr 1!. I decided to boot up this game on my steam deck after buying it in the summer sale. And was very disappointed. It kept crashing my steam deck and was super poorly optimised and the entire game felt more like one of those cheap bad mobile games. And the game felt very weird and janky. Which is a disappointment as i went into this game buying it despite the negative reviews as i'm raccoon lover nr 1. Sadly i decided to ask steam for a refund. Maybe i should have taken it as a red flag when compass was mispelled and the grammar of the dialogue felt very weird.

In the state that it is in, I would not recommend it. I would say hopefully it gets better but it's been 4 years since this game was uploaded to Steam. There seems to be a glitch, at least for me, where once you get the objective "Follow Jack" after fixing the crane, you're just softlocked because it is literally impossible to talk to Jack and continue the story. He just stops as soon as he gets to a certain point and no matter how many times you press E, nothing will happen. On top of that, the NPCs being able to bust you is extremely unforgiving but it's not that big of a deal since you don't lose any items or progress, you just sort of spawn back to another location.

I would really want to give a positive review to this game.. but there are some issues that make it impossible to play it. Wanted Raccoon is a game i really looked forward to playing and which i enjoyed for the first part: it's funny, mischievous, you commit a lot of crimes ! Sounds perfect if it wasn't for the fact that the game is completely broken. Aside minor bugs which can be overlooked, there are some major problems like softblocks in the junkyard area. I managed to get rid of the first one activating some cutscenes, but right after i got trapped in another softblock which made me give up. Please fix the game! It's really nice and funny, it's such a waste that in some points it's not working ...still i would like so much to be able to finish it ;_;

I decided to leave a positive review because I really want this game to be better, and I feel the need to support that. I LOVE raccoons, and I was so excited to get this game, and yet I spent so little time playing it because it's so hard to play. Not hard as in the gameplay is hard, hard as in it's so buggy.... Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't even start. And I know I don't have the most powerful of computers, but if I can play Alien isolation, I like to think I could play a raccoon simulator. So yeah, I don't think you should get the game right now, but I really hope it will get better, I think it can be better, because there's a lot of potential there.
