Tried to play as a child many times; I remember I liked it. The first successful delivery happened just today, though xD.

Ahh the nostalgia. Still love it after all this time, it's nice for it to not be a sandbox, and just to have the 1 million dollar objective. I'll probably finish the other 2 regions at some point but for now it was nice to finally finish it. Protip: Green truck is all you need, the more expensive ones feel like they have a slower acceleration.

Great classic, definitely worth a look if you like truck sims. It helps to run it with dgvoodoo or something similar as this allows for 4k widescreen support and forces MSAA to work with it. Is it as good as the modern games like ATS? No, but it has 3 fairly good sized maps and I enjoy the old school challenge of not having gps and having to use a map and interstate signs. All in all great game!

I didn't play much at all but still would recommend this game as this is a very nostalgic game. Reminds me of the windows 98/XP computer I had back then and playing this game. The soundtrack still plays in my head from the time to time till date. I don't think I bought the CD new back then, but still was a lovely experience from what would become Euro truck 2. I think they are even using the same engine, which goes to show how strong this engine is. I read a couple of complaints of people hitting invisble walls, I haven't seen those in the little play time I had in this game, but will watch out. Recommend this game, period.

Prior to buying this game on Steam, I have not played it in nearly 20 years. I was very happy to see that it works flawlessly on my Windows 10 system that is decently powerful.
Playing this game makes me realize that the newer trucking simulators are missing some elements that I truly loved back in the day. Comparing this game vs the newer simulators feels like comparing 80s/90s trucking vs today. Hard truck feels more like old school trucking, you don't even have a GPS until you can afford to install one on your rig. You have to rely on your map and reading road signs to navigate from terminal to terminal.

Really nice game, played it in 2000s, and I missed it. Bought it and played it again, to remember my childhood good days. I want to collect all 18 Wheels of steel series.

My childhood game. Earned a million dollars and got congratulated, 10/10. As for the downsides, the first trucks are really slow and 2nd and 3rd map were much less detailed than 1st. Works absolutely well on Win 10.

I used to play it as a kid(when I was in kindergarten, and before too and later as well), a lot, although I preferred Pedal to the Metal, great game, and now in steam I bought it in package as I have already bought quite a few games from this publisher.
There is English language for now only, it used to have other languages, such as Hungarian text and voice, I will detail this review further later(reorganizte it a bit), but I recommend this game for anyone who likes classic trucking, I bought Hard Truck Apocalypse cuz' of this game, which is basically the spinoff of the trucking Hard Trucks, which is really good as well

Overall, this game is pretty good. This is essentially the first game that SCS has done that eventually branched off into what is ATS/ETS 2 now. Even though it is a very "ancient" title it seems to run and play good even on Windows 11. The only slight problems I had is the truck(s) seem to have a mind of its own where it would randomly detach from the trailer if you try going up a steep hill or grade on the highway. Im not sure if its just an error on my part or something but it does tend to get annoying. Also, the trucks at least the one you start out with, accelerates very slowly and it takes a few minutes for it to get up to speed. I had the disk version, but I don't remember these two problems when I played it on my disk copy. Controller support is also ok, but keyboard and mouse seems to be much better to play this game in my experience. If you want this as like a collectors piece, I would get it, but since it only enables you to run it at a lower resolution it can look weird in some aspects since it wasn't really made for modern PC's and equipment. However, im at least happy this exists on steam.
