PLEASE GIVE SAN BASE ALL YOUR MONEY AND KEEP THIS GLORIOUS PROJECT ALIVE!!! If you don’t buy this app (VR or pancake version) you are missing out on a game changing experience. EDIT: MIND BLOWING AF -supersampling to 16k (great for standing still, 8k and 4k resolutions while moving) -A typwriter that writes cool quotes for you -reltively Simple UI -FANTASTICAL geometry -Infinite immersive fractal environments -music++ -save and export your creations -Will transcend you beyond this mortal realm EDIT 2: (disclaimer: don’t pay much attention to frame rate while moving; the main point of this app is for viewing your immersive 3D fractal creations) frame rate while moving through worlds is MUCH better on high resolutions with a 30 series card. 8k and 4k move well on most cards, but you really need a 30 series if you want to move around without chugging hard at 16k. ORIGINAL: For the most part this is really awesome! There are only a few issues. Even if you have amazing hardware, moving around in dive in mode will be a low framerate slow rendering mess, its just a question of how bad the frames will be. Just varying levels of abysmal. However, standing still and looking around the environments you create is a beautiful mathematical marvel of an experience. Also, only 3 degrees of freedom as far as head tracking is concerned so don't bother walking around or moving up or down, you will just get sick (in dive in mode only, at the alchemy table is fine). It would be really nice if there were render distance options to help with framerates when moving around. I think the problem is that every time you move even a inch it needs to render again. Creating a 3D environment that is pre-rendered to a view distance catered to each gpu would help and also only rendering the surfaces of the geometry, as there is a lot of crazy stuff happening inside of each solid object as well sapping performance. Some optimization for the dive in experience and this app would be flawless. Unfortunately, it is just plain hindered by the limits of unity engine... Still a totally worth experience. Some of the geometry you can make is just astounding!

Best use of fractals I've seen in my lifetime. The alchemist theme is fitting, as you just throws various formulas together to see if they mix right. This is one of those experiences that just sucks you right in.

Okay have figured this one out - well for the most part. Having great fun creating my own fractals! The output pictures are awesome, thank you so much! Being able to travel through your own creations is amazing! Maybe I am just a nerd. I LOVE THIS!!!!!I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT A SHOOT EM UP! As a VR user, I wait and wait and wait for these offerings. I hope you continue to improve on this. Application does crash every now and again, and I will take your advice and send the situation where that occurs. It is not often and I think it is just when I am pushing things a bit too hard. Here are my suggestions for what they are worth. A. I would like to be able to turn around once I am in a fractal world if at all possible. This is also important for turning a scene that looks perhaps upside down or sideways so that it is positioned properly for photos. If there is a way to do this in-game, I haven't found it. B. The music in the fractal does not turn off. I LOVE the music provided! It is just the right amount of other-worldly, but would also like to use my own. I have used Mandlebulb and this is comparable to the artwork I can produce from that, but I need just a bit more help with what those bubbles do, and what the different settings and sliders do. A manual with more detail would be great if you can provide. Right now just having fun playing with the settings. I have spent a good amount of time on this and look forward to getting back in every day!

Great way to explore and create fractals and art. This really simplifies what is a very complex and tedious process with desktop fractal apps. It has a few rough edges, but is a great way to relax and mix up some awesome new visuals.

Enjoyable when you get the hang of it. It does not look like much at first, but with some practice you will find it a great VR experience. Fascinating visuals to create and explore. 7/10

I bought this game for $15 hoping it would be fun and unique. Unfortunately I could never get it to generate a fractal. It would either just sit there and think about it or lock up. I will emphasize that was my experience with this game, others may have more luck. As for me, I asked for a refund.

Really enjoying this program. There is nothing quite like it in the Fractal world. Those that do exist insist you modify Formulea or have so many options that you don't know what is going on. This program is very much 'Play about and see what you get.' Usually you can make something interesting. The examples given are really good showing some of the things that can be accomplished. Just loading and exploring an example will give you lots of different Fractals, all worthy of framing a a piece of art. Be aware that you will need a powerful machine and graphics card. This is a graphics program and you will a lot of power to run the program. Having said that, I have got good results from a Laptop using an intel graphics card. Your average miles may vary. If you are willing to take the plunge, this is a great way to get started with Fractal Graphics.

Strange little thing. As a programmer, I'm generally not a fan of anything that involves combining blocks or linking boxes. I prefer writing actual code. That said, I wouldn't even know where to begin to write a fractal like the ones that are made easy to create with this odd tool, and exploring these weird worlds can be quite interesting. The controls can definitely be better / more intuitive, but they have been improving over the weeks, so that appears to be on the right path. As a note, I don't have a VR headset, so this review is for the non-VR version.

My very first fractal editing was back in the Atari 1040 STe days. Since then I tried out almost every software snippet that's on the market. The newest Mandelbulb scene was a big step forward to this kind of art. And with Fractal Alchemist VR a dream comes true! If you are aware of the complexity behind this formulars and take your time, this will be a real trip! I wish I could use an advanced mode where you have access to the formulars and functions itself, I hope something like this will be possible in the future. GTX 1660TI > sometimes stuttering but I remember the days a single 640x480 fractal (2D 8bit) tooks a whole night to render, so what the heck :D For all fractal fans and VR users a clear "BUY IT JUST RIGHT NOW"! (edit: just my typos)
