This is genuinely one of the greatest games I had ever played revived directly from my childhood, with a strangely unique balance of both RPG, hack, and slash, and basic RTS hybrid. It's awesome but my god who the hell re-coded this thing needs to be studied, because how the hell does this this control worse than it did back in the early 2000s. The pathing, is either functional, or bad, their are strange and inconsistent bugs in some places, and clear mislabels else where. Like the Dark Elf Horse Archers, and the Knights had their names mixed up. Also the random censoring of the Pope, and Elens out fit from the original sucks. And other little things that certainly doesn't help with the game play that can range from the usually pretty challenging and enjoyable, to the just down right unfair, and brutal for some totally random missions. But in all fairness going off of what came after this game, I would say that they struck gold entirely by accident, and never recovered. Like for real I would not advise playing the squeal to this game, it's a shit MMO when it should have built off of what Crusaders, and this game laid the ground work to do. But whatever at least, some how, some way these games got necromanced back to life, and it's unique blend of game play styles still holds up as no one has full managed to replicate it.

Who'da thunk that making a Dynasty Warriors game where you can actually controll your troops and be strategic about things would work? Kingdom Under Fire is a great concept thats let down by its execution. It's hard to shake Xbox clunk I suppose. I'd still recomend it as it is great fun, but it's a bit weird that no-one else has taken this to the next level.
