As a chill-adventure-game enjoyer, I'd recommend this game for you who wants to lay back after work in your couch/bed with your controller and strolls around the TOEM world. As a people-pleaser, I like this game so much because I can help the characters inside the game with their unique problems. I like the gameplay that allows you to take any awesome pictures of the scenery inside the game.

A charming game with lots of fun little details, very chill and has a really cool art style. Soundtrack is also lovely, relatively short game but wonderful and also includes free DLC which was a great surprise after completing the game. Would absolutely recommend! You can tell the dev team really put their heart into it, I hope for a TOEM 2

Took me 5 hours to 100%, overall really satisfying. Art is endearing, sound design is nice. There were some graphical oddities here and there (low resolution textures when zooming) but it didn't impede the experience at all. I got it on discount, and that's broadly what I'd recommend, but if you like "hidden object" games masquerading as a photo-based video game, you'll enjoy this a lot. Scratches a completionist itch too with the stamps and lists of things to complete.

Very light-handed and elegant. It keeps a nice balance between being relaxing and challenging. It’s never overwhelming, yet it always keeps you curious. The ending lands just right and really moved me. Thanks for making this!

I simply adore this game. While I do tend to like more colorful games, Toem is very very charming and does not disappoint. The only minor issue would be that sometimes sprites are pixelated/low-res in photos. Aside from that, the characters and maps are so fun with a lot of personality, and there are some hidden gems apart from the main story progression. The puzzles are a good variety in difficulty; a few of them I couldn't figure out on my own, which I think is totally fine. I really appreciate that the devs even added an additional vacation region, what a great summer experience I had. I finished the game feeling very touched and accomplished, twice. I'm excited to see where Toem 2 goes!

Absolutely love this game, highly recommend it.
The extra addition of Basto was an unexpected pleasant surprise.
I'll be watching and hoping for Toem 2, or even more extra content in addition to Basto.
Will probably replay Toem every year or more in the meantime just for the relaxing vibe alone.

I adore this game.
Toem is a cute and simple photography puzzle game. You walk around and explore rural and urban areas interacting with cool characters and creatures. People want to see your photos, or you take a photo and it changes the world around you.
The mechanics and artstyle are extremely simple but super engaging. I love the 2D artstyle and was immediately blown away by the camera change from 3rd person top down to 1st person, while still keeping the world 2D. This game places a strong emphasis on perceptive, as it should as picture taking is its main mechanic. And it does it so impressively well.
The longer I played this game the more I found it changing how I played. I started taking photos preemptively thinking "someone will want to see this." I started shifting the camera more to find all the little secrets or appreciate the personality the environment has. I'm a little photographer now, finding photos in both the unique and mundane, for other people at first, and then for myself.
At the end of the game I found myself fondly flipping through my photo album. The pictures I took were funny, occasionally out of focus or of frame, and showcased the lovely little world the developers built. And isn't that so endearing that this game made me want to do that?
There isn't much for story or dialogue but I don't think this game needed anymore than it currently has. In no way does Toem feel unfinished or incomplete.
Toem does one thing and it does it so fantastically. With one trick indie games I often find myself exhausted when there's one mechanic in the game that it's clearly built around, since this often leads to a lack of diversity in gameplay. But since toem is only a few hours long and it's world is so fun, I didn't feel that here.
Toem is a game that inspires warmth and joy and other pleasant feelings. With it's artstyle, fun gameplay, and calming soundtrack, I think everyone should try this out.
I don't know if there's enough content to justify $20, but i would say it's easily at least worth $10.
