I like the vibes in this game, and i LOVE scamming these poor folks. Looking forward to seeing how the Lore unravels itself.

OH NOOOOO what a shame this game has got fast text ...way too fast to play the game unfortunately. i think maybe they sort of tried to fix it by adding a text log but that is a complete waste of time at the start of the game (which is as far as i got) because there is a lot of dialogue that you have no control over & as soon as that dialogue finishes a new npc comes in & wipes all the old conversation to start up the new one which makes playing the game quite impossible. i am playing on steamdeck but even if i was playing it on my 65 inch screen about a meter & half in front of me i still wouldn't be able to read it in time & i am not a slow reader , it doesn't help that the text is a weird font ...is it some sort of pixel font? if i ant to get into this game & play it i would probably have to start the game maybe half a dozen times to be able to read all the dialogue . the other thing that was confusing was finding where to go & navigating general getting around, there are npcs saying things as you pass but you have no control over the text so again theres no time to read it. other players have commented about this issue & yet they didn't bother to fix it which is really strange because it does have a mechanic in the tutorial part when it explains about cards (a sort of tutorial) & you have to click to move onto the next bit of info so wy an't they do that for all of the dialogue through out the game so that everyone can play & not just speed readers . i didnt understand the point of these cards by the way but i dare say if you played the game you could work it out & understand the bartering system which i think is what it is ? i would love this game im sure but while i am autistic i am not a savante & there is no way i can read the dialogue in time to even get a gist of what is going on. this was one of the first games i bought on steam too having always used consoles for games & my pc for flight simming but i prefer management / shop / strategy games on my handheld consoles & the 3ds managed to have text you could read in all of its games, the ps vita not so much but the steamdeck is plenty big enough & it is easy to zoom in so this is a text speed problem & i think its too late for me to get a refund probably , i dont really want one anyway i would much prefer to be able to play the game so i hope they fix it one day but by the looks of it they wont because there are many complaints about this for a long time (years) & they have been ignored

So there is some things to consider with my recommendation, as many of the things the game does right has a counter negative to "balance" it out. The basic game play loop is running a pawn store, where you buy things to sell them at a profit. If you make too much money though, negative events can occur that feels unfair. The game give you the option of running a slightly unfair pawn shop, where you have the option to hide some of the history and factors of an item. You can then add those factors to sell them at a premium, but them people will hate you. The game has a lot of different endings, but many of them are cryptic to work towards. The world setting is interesting, but the story is generally forgettable. Music and graphics work well for the game itself, and no complaints on that front. I would say this game needs two play modes, story and endless mode. I believe many players just want to enjoy buying and selling things without having to deal with the morality tale going on in the background.
