Getting better with each episode!
It's not excellent at any particular area, but it delivers fairly well in all of them. There's a little mystery that keeps you hooked, new mechanics are introduced pretty often, and it makes the most of them.
Buy it before the price raises again with the next episode's release!!!

Review up to the current chapter (Chapter 3):
I purchased this game thanks to Ginxu, a developer and content creator whom I admire for his personality and work. His videos are both informative and entertaining, but although I respect his efforts, I must be honest about my opinion of the game. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback. From this point on, there will be spoilers about the game.
Story:
The story feels somewhat clichéd and lacking in substance. The fact that the protagonist loses their memory, only to later discover they live in an alternate dimension and suddenly regain all their memories, doesn’t strike me as original. This plot twist, while common, doesn’t bring anything new to the table and feels predictable. Additionally, the sudden shift to being completely determined to tie up loose ends without a clear transition disconnected me from the narrative.
Characters:
The characters are decently developed, but they have their ups and downs:
-Hikari: She’s my favorite character due to her sense of humor and her seemingly tough attitude. However, her being a smoker doesn’t quite convince me, as it doesn’t seem to fit her adorable design. While her personality grew on me throughout the story, I didn’t like how her attitude changed drastically in Chapter 3, becoming overly soft after reconciling with Aki. Her wind power, which she uses with a staff, was interesting, though I’m not sure if it has any connection to her smoking habit.
-Yami: Like Hikari, he’s a tough character, but more impulsive and prone to resorting to violence in almost every situation. His storyline about the pendant he wears intrigued me, but his tragic backstory didn’t fully convince me, as it felt forced to justify his fear of cats. His electricity powers are cool, but I feel they could have more potential.
-Mark: He’s the typical geek who loves video games and has a degree in physics. However, it’s clear he’s hiding something, and the counter on his hand during the fight against the boy who summoned monsters left me intrigued. We’ll have to wait and see what happens when it reaches 100%.
-Aki: I’m surprised by how she went from having no personality to having too much of it, but for the worse. In the first chapter, alongside Prinz, she was doing well, but then she suddenly took a nosedive and felt useless compared to her teammates. From there, she became a burden, barely contributing and sometimes making things worse, like when she broke Hikari’s staff. That said, I have to admit her microwave power made me laugh.
Gameplay:
The gameplay feels a bit clunky, especially when attacking. You can only attack in the direction you’re facing, which requires moving toward that direction, leaving you vulnerable against certain enemies. This can be frustrating in more intense battles.
Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is simple and ambient, with the exception of the battle theme against the girl with the brush, which stands out. The rest of the tracks are fairly generic and forgettable, though they serve their purpose.
Bosses:
This is a point that might bother some players. The lack of intuitiveness in defeating bosses, with overly subtle and useless hints, can be frustrating. The summoning boy, the girl with the brush, and the scissor man were a bit easier to figure out compared to the others.
Puzzles:
At first, the puzzles were passable, but as the game progressed, some grew on me more than others. I liked how they make you think, and the end result is often satisfying.
World:
I like the concept of a world where various types of magic are used and how you can learn these abilities in dojos. The uncertainty introduced between chapters is simple but effective, and the side characters are moderately charismatic, making you grow fond of them, just like the protagonists.
Bugs and Optimization:
On the Steam Deck, I encountered several bugs, such as the character falling into an infinite void when returning to the oasis, or during the cutscene where you have to carry Yami’s pendant to enlarge it (this happened to me twice). Additionally, the performance on the Steam Deck is somewhat lacking, reaching almost 19 watts in areas with intense lighting, like the cave or the strange miasma zone, even on normal quality settings.
Summary:
I know Ginxu is putting a lot of effort into this project, and while I respect his work, I can’t say I fully enjoyed his creation. I hope this critique is taken as an opportunity for improvement, as I know he’s someone who’s open to feedback. I wish him much success in the future.
