The game has a THPS vibe combined with hack n slash elements.
It is a fun game but feels incredibly unpolished and clunky.
Pretty sure the game is abandoned with no future updates.
Wouldn't recommend it unless there is a sale or wait until THPS 3+4

I got this when it was like 0.1 and somehow it is less responsive and polished at 1.0 than it was back then. The switch to being more point focused is a novel idea but it feels like with the immense shuffle of mechanics and tweaks to the core game play that aspect of the game that had any polish on it has been removed. There is still a thick layer of jank holding this game back, and it feels like it hasn't taken any steps forward. I just think maybe in trying to tweak it's identity the game has gotten a bit lost, if that makes any sense.
Combat and Traversal are currently just too buggy to be reliable, combos drop for seemingly no reason, I still clip through walls, sometimes I start a run and I've kept all my upgrades? (sometimes the opposite of a problem)
If you start with practically verbatim the opening to Tony Hawk's Underground, you really want to try produce something of that caliber.
I really hope the game starts to get back in the right direction, and proceeds to polish and fix these new mechanics. I've had a mountain of fun with this game and I hope I can get back to that. In it's current state I can't even justify to my friends who'd be interested in this that they should play it.
TLDR: Game was fun, now is a bit lost, less polished but still brimming with potential.

So in short this game is good and worth it it plays fun and is fun worth the money. My only gripe the game does not feel finished as there is missing dialog, glitches, and it seems like there is missing content that is shown in the game images. but can I recommend the game despite that yes yes 1000 times yes. The sound track alone is amazing the game play loop is fun and I could do so many runs and not get tired of it.

Hades meets THPS -- 2 of my favorite games of all time. But my GOD I wish it wasn't so buggy. I love the combat and the level design, but I'd enjoy it so much more if the controls were tighter and the shift between trick combos and attacking felt more seamless.

OF COURSE it's very reminiscent of the punk skate games of old. But now, with things trying to merk you.
There's a vague story, forgettable characters, and pointless progression. But, if you want a game you can hop on for a quick session, and accidentally play for 3 hours because you want to get that last pickup and you just can't get that wallride quite right....... this one is pretty decent.

The first and only roguelike I've enjoyed and its because its also a solid arcade skate game. Perhaps not as polished as an official Tony Hawk game but definitely good enough to scratch that itch. Plus the soundtrack is alot of fun <3

This game is disappointing in almost every way. Two months after its release, they put it on sale for 50% off because it was struggling. I bought it then, and now I completely understand why. The gameplay feels clunky, and most tricks are ineffective (No point at all). It seems like the game wanted to be a rogue-like, but it failed miserably in that regard. Not worth it even at 50%. Poor music and poor voice acting.

This game is weird. It's absolutely unfinished, a buggy mess that was rushed out of early access with an undercooked story, repetitive levels and challenges, bugs, a progression system that doesn't feel rewarding when you lose all your upgrades upon dying (especially the stat points that make no sense to lose), no way to customize your character's clothes (a huge oversight compared to the Tony Hawk games), a lack of overall content, and did I mention the BUGS that are absolutely EVERYWHERE??? You constantly clip through walls, tricks you perform won't count, you'll get stuck in walls, the physics will feel wonky, your character model will get stuck in a certain position, the camera won't align correctly, tattoos you get won't actually show up on your character model, the targeting in the hub area gets stuck, etc. There's such a glaring lack of polish that's impossible to ignore and should be grounds for me not to recommend it.
And yet, I can't put this game down. It's addictive as hel (pun intended). Combos feel so satisfying and transitioning from skating to fighting is seamless. The levels have so many lines to skate and it's easy to get a ton of air and launch all over the map. It does a fantastic job making you turn "just one more round" into 10 more. Even without much of a story, the characters are all lovable and feel like real people. Anton doesn't feel like some protagonist you're forced into, he's someone I actually enjoy playing as. The humor is very in-line for a skating game, being funny and cheeky without going over-the-top, and the writing has made me laugh out loud multiple times. The art style is gorgeous, the power-ups really allow you to customize your playstyle, overall it feels like a wholly original concept. I find myself choosing this over the Tony Hawk games when I want a skating game.
The key word for this game is potential. So, so much potential. I really hope the developers spend a lot of time with this one because they have an absolute gem waiting to be polished. I was happy to drop the $25 to support them and hope they repay me by supporting this game. Absolutely recommend it, just be patient

They rushed launch and are moving on, clearly unfinished.
several instances of missed items etc when i grind/skate over them
no incentives for doing tricks or lines, most points and rewards are achieved through objectives and combat. FWIR, tricks *used* to be the actual combat in earlier builds, but I guess that was too hard so it's now just button mashing, which is a shame.

This is not a finished game, and that's not hyperbole. I am being entirely literal, this is not a finished game. There are huge parts of this game that were clearly incomplete, that were clearly intended to be worked on, but they never were and the game was released that way.
the game really had a lot of promise in early access, but only because you could overlook game breaking bugs and performance issues that they never ended up fixing.
And I can not stress enough that this is NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT!
