Exceptional game. I played through on the easiest difficulty because this isn't my usual kind of game, but it still had some challenge and I had a great time. Only 1.5 hours for the play-through but it was good enough to be worth the money. There was huge effort from the devs on this one - for example creating a traditional space ship based bullet-hell mode which works great even though only used for 1 level.

BZZZT is an absolutely fantastic 2D platforming game, plain and simple. The controls are tight and responsive, your character's movement kit is classic and fun with a double jump, dash, and even the ability to fly similar to how the feather powerup in Celeste functions. The pixel art is vibrant and gorgeous to look at. The soundtrack is lovely and fits the futuristic aesthetic of this game perfectly. And lastly, I greatly enjoyed the added challenge of perfecting a run of a level in order to get both the target time trial time as well as every collectable. With 76 levels total, this game makes for a fun and challenging experience from start to finish. I highly recommend it

really good speedrun platformer. The controls are tight, the music is good and the challenges are fair and you can feel that you are getting better each try.

A fantastic entry into the precision platformer genre! 50+ Stages of evolving difficulty with a few goofy bosses thrown in there too. New mechanics are introduced at a steady pace, are meaningful and all work together nicely to create tight movement system. Stages have sub objectives like collecting all the Screws, beating the stage under a certain time limit and collecting hidden Chips. This allows you to adjust the games difficulty on the fly very naturally. While not mandatory, I do strongly recommend trying to 100% each stage before moving on to the next one. The Levels where clearly designed to not just be beaten, but for you to figure out the optimal route. Because once the level starts to click the game takes on the qualities of a rythm game! Really appreciate the inclusion of a dedicated self-destruct-button here to quickly restart the stage without breaking the flow if you screw up. Related to that, clearly a lot of care was given to sound design & the music (I was surprised how many banger tunes there were) and the STELLAR ART. I Adore when devs fully embrace Pixel Art and push what the style can do while still being aware of what makes it apealing to begin with. There is a bit of story though it is mainly utilized to add a bit of goofy flavour to the platforming. No deep narrative here, just a bit of light hearted fun to get the player moving.

This game was very clearly a labour of love and the amount of polish feels genuinely jaw dropping at times. I haven't had the time to take a look at the 26 Bonus Stages added in update 1.3 yet but judging by what I got to enjoy already I cannot wait to check them out. - STRONGLY RECOMMEND -

Very precise and responsive controls, cute visuals and not too frustrating (Insane mode aside). Could have a little longer campaign, but what was delivered was great. Also: GREAT soundtrack.

Just beat the game. Visually the game is amazing. I love the colors and sprite animations as well as how the animations for the enemy objects have very clear timing to them. As far as gameplay I really like how as you progress through the levels it introduces new abilities to spice things up and the level designs grow with each new upgrade. I thought the level design was very challenging. Me and my friend died over 100 times to beat the game. I was surprised at the comedic element of the game. I tried to jump on Emilys head as she was flying around as a monitor and she actually responded to it. Nice little touches like that. I can see this game as a franchise.

As I was playing the final bossfight, I was thinking about what I was going to write here. I had decided to play on normal mode (which btw should be caled hard mode) wich meant every level took me waay longer than I thought. The fianl bossfight took me 2 hours to beat and made me want to uninstall my PC. But then the end credits hit and I teard up. This game is a masterpiece. I met Karel Homolka on agame developers session in Prague and I would call him the Czech Toby Fox. He made an addicting, cute, hard asf game thats better than most AAA games nowadays. And the sountrack mixes 8-bit music with 80s vibes and results in an absolute banger. Definitely something you should play. Games like this give the indie genre a good name.

As much as I love Metroidvanias it’s nice to have a level based 2D platformer. It feels so rare nowadays. This one is really good. If you go for everything there’s plenty to get your money’s worth. Going fast for the speedrun time is pretty fun or getting a perfect on every level. The perfect is the speedrun time and all the parts. Not everything about the game is great. My biggest problem is that the hitboxes feel off. It might be me but I’ve felt like I’m not touching the thing and still die. There are 76 levels (48 + 4 bosses + 24 bonus levels postgame that you unlock by getting perfects). Most of the levels are great or good but I really didn’t like some of them. A few levels are gimmick based and some say it’s a nice change of pace but I didn’t have fun with most of them. Thankfully there aren't that many of those. The final boss kinda sucked. Not that hard just really long. A 2 minute fight and kept messing up a minute in. The bonus levels were by far the best levels in the game. You start off with just a jump then quickly get a double jump then a dash. The game gets really good once you get the dash. Most games you only get one dash in the air but there’s no limit here. It’s really fun moving around in the air to get a fast time and items. Overall as much as some parts made me angry the rest of the game makes up for it. This game has a hard mode that’s normal but with 7 lives. Not a chance I can beat the game (52 levels) with 7 lives. The only achievement I can’t get. 24/25 hurts lol
