I don't write reviews mainly because the developers put a lot and time into producing a product for your entertainment. I am grateful for all their hard work. The first series of Grisaia was very enjoyable if not a little overpriced, I am talking Australian Dollar. Unfortunately in Australia we have to pay more. But the series Phantom Trigger was not as enjoyable for a number of reasons. Again over priced especially the last chapter, the author must love his food because more than half the story is about food and how it is prepared. When I purchase a VN I am expecting a story with drama and action not a lesson in food preparation. I guess by drawing it out and making it longer than it really should be they think they are giving you your money worth. For that reason I am not impressed that is dishonest, I would like to know how it finishes but I am not going to wast my money. If one day I can get on special for half price I might consider purchasing it.

pro= This one is longer than the previous volumes.
cons = Takes longer to get to the meat and potatoes.
Heavy focus on teacher character in a perpetual confusion.

Volume 7 is the longest so far at around 6.5 hours for a fast reader.
Overall I am extremely disappointed for the first time. We finally got a glimpse of what the actual story was going to be in volume 6 but almost nothing happens here. The first 11 chapters (about 2 hours) are wasted on Arisaka going back and fourth trying to decide if the girls can go off to combat. Once we finally get past that Arisaka has the brilliant idea of joining them in an active war zone. Of course she is then ultra annoying the whole time pushing her ideals and worries on everyone.
The girls are all like super heroes nothing phases them and the whole situation is ridiculous. Ultimately nothing really happens until the very end and even that is interrupted. Again the author masturbates over their knowledge of guns and bikes instead of writing a compelling story.
The increased price did not lead to a better produce. Easily the worst of them all.
Use Magpie to upscale the game and it looks incredible.

Solid 7/10. Not the best out of all the Volumes but a good build up for what comes next. As for length its around double the length of Volume 6 and should take around 8-10 hours to finish depending on how fast you read.

A maxi volume we have here!
Much longer than the others, fully voiced with all the cast from the previous volumes AND a few new characters.
The new Backgrounds are of even greater quality, with some stunning lighting.
I can't wait for the final volume now!

Too much food. They could name this volume Grisaia Food Trigger. After all previous good volumes I expected epic story, but instead got food and civilian's worries about war and lives. And only little bits of story. Weakest volume of all.
And no, this volume is not much longer, as someone says. Just 2 hours longer.

I don't know why people don't like volume 7. It has its own special atmosphere and interesting events.
The previous volumes were about the stories of individual characters, but this time the characters are combined together. And this is something new for Phantom Trigger.
Personally, I find it interesting to see how all the characters work together. Yes, this volume is not as active as the previous ones. Here things happen slowly. And this is good, because in this way we can convey in detail the atmosphere of places and events that meet us in this volume. And this is where things start to get more serious.
I love the idea of some crazy cult with a bunch of big guys. It's cool and funny at the same time. There are many new antagonists that we get to know gradually.
The result is a volume that can be described as preparation for something great. And that preparation is leading us into volume 8, where it all ends.
(btw, I like Homura so much)
To start off the review, I'll address the elephant in the room. Yes it's more expensive than the previous volumes, but yes it also has "more content" If an auto play run is considered the standard, the previous volumes were about 4-5 hours long. This volume is about 11 hours long.
My time played is the about the amount of time it takes for a complete auto-play through. While I agree that it's not the strongest volume out of the series. It's not a bad beginning arc to end the Phantom Trigger series. The preview allegedly stated that Vol. 8 will be the final volume for Phantom Trigger (I highly doubt it, keep milking Grisaia Frontwing).
While I normally discourage people from picking stories with cliffhangers, Vol. 7 doesn't leave you on a big one. The entire volume is a setup for a climax story in volume 8 by introducing us to new and old returning characters, as well as the conflict at hand. Because of this, the entire volume seems less like a self contained story like previous volumes and more of a slice of life show (in a battlefield) with an overarching plot in the background.
I updated the review to contain some concerns about the price.
Also Frontwing, I'll patiently wait for you to animate the entire series.
P.S. Maki is the best.

I knew this game wouldn't disappoint.
So far all 7 previous games were each centered around an specific character's past and present. Not this one.
Vol.7 is about them as a unit and the beginning of what I believe will be a great battle.
Damn, can't wait for Grisaia Phantom Trigger Vol.8. It will surely be E-P-I-C!
Hopefully it won't be the last. Even after the upcoming event, I believe there's room for great stories yet to be told.
This volume is much longer than the others. Hence the slight increase in price.
Bought on release day. Do not regret at all. Worth the price.
