It's a really lovely and flexible toy. I play it when I'm on long phone calls.

Cute but not much depth. It was fun for a bit but not a lot of re-playability.

Good game for relaxation. Would be really good if the devs added some more stuff tho.

This is the most simplistic of the trio of sandbox city builders I've played recently but it's also the oldest and cheapest one. There's just enough options to play with the lighting and color schemes for a different stylized city every time and you can carve some really creative cities once you get the hang of the tools and rules. Recommended if you're looking for a city builder game without the gameplay or a 3D modeling program without the learning curve.
There's not much to say about the building process because it's so simple... You left-click to place a block and right-click to remove a block. There's 15 colors to choose from, giving you a lot of creativity not only with color schemes but with the layout of the city: blocks "react" differently to connections depending on height, color, and terrain. The tools provided make it easy to put up a complex city in under half an hour, but it would go even faster if the tools were more PC-friendly. Unfortunately, there aren't bounding boxes to draw or remove multiple blocks at once, leaving you to place and remove everything individually.
Some other wishlist items include options to manually choose flat or angled roofs, an option to click and drag to choose height, and more options for terrain. Currently you can make grass and bushes with closed loops of buildings, but there's no options for other foliage placement. There's also no options for unplaced terrain, meaning everyone is stuck living on the open ocean. Otherwise, the tools provided are simple enough that it's fun to just play with them and discover new things.
Townscaper is one of the few "comfy" games that I can safely recommend because of the low price point and the unique experience it provides. Tiny Glade provides a more robust experience, with more nuanced tools and more detailed environments, but this provides a much larger scale and a cleaner aesthetic. Worth checking out if you're on the fence about 3D art or if you just want to make some cute landscapes for social media.

Lovely and calming and a fun way to make a little map or town. I'd love little visual update or maybe some options for the types of buildings.

This is a really relaxing game. There are no real limitations to building as far as money/resources are concerned and you don't have to worry about villagers or townspeople or citizens of any kinds being in the way. No traffic, no natural disasters, just a bunch of colorful buildings in different shapes. Please enjoy!

it's pretty chill, there are some hidden structures you can make, which gives you an incetive to try to innovate, but it's also very fun to just spend time building shit
