I love this game!
I have followed Tour de France for some years now and when I found out there was a game also. I was very excited and wasted no time to buy it! So far some things are great and some are for improvements

This is a game only cycling enthusiasts will appreciate. You can form a team (with budget constraints), select riders for a race, control any of the riders during a race (attack, chase, sprint, just sit in, or order teammates to begin a sprint leadout, as well as minor details including taking a feed to recover some energy you have expanded).

I thought I liked Pro Cycling Manager more than this, but this game is killing PCM. I love the arcade feel of this game overall, and the graphics are always really pleasing. I'd say the only thing missing from this edition is lack of races to fill the calendar.
The game freezes at language selection and after about 30 seconds it crashes.
Its been 3 weeks since I wait for a solution to this.
On 8 september I was fool enough not to hit refund button while I was within the steam politics period (less than 2 weeks since you bought the game or less than 24hours of gameplay) because I liked the game and I thought it'll be fixed fast.. not the case and now I cannot get a refund
For sure I'd not buy again any of the games produced by them just because of terrible support given .. blaming antivirus problem when the game has same problem even with the antivirus disabled

The Tour games are really good honestly but no reason to buy the 22 or 21 version as it's virtually the same game for 3 times the price (for 21) or 6 times the price (for 22). A part from maybe 2 features.
Despite what the name indicates you can race in several tournaments and there is even a career mode that's very decent. You can both make a team and make a racer.
The gameplay is fun though I will say that it's weirdly hard to break away from the peloton. Unless you join an attack from the AI.
By far the best cycling game on the market

This is probably the worst, most boring cycling game ever created. I can't even make it past the terrible tutorial levels because there's walls of text and annoying recorded audio which do nothing to describe how to accomplish the actual training objectives. I can't even find a proper guide or video showing how to complete the time trial tutorial they are so bad and confusing. RESPECT THE SUGGESTED EFFORT LEVEL, IT MAY DECREASE OR INCREASE IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE THERE'S 4 DIFFERENT GAUGES ON THE SCREEN WHICH AREN'T EXPLAINED OR LABELED AND SPAMMING EVERY BUTTON ON THE CONTROLLER CHANGES NOTHING SO WE'LL JUST KEEP REPEATING THE AUDIO HOPING YOU FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT ON YOUR OWN, GOOD LUCK! If you have to use Google and still can't figure out how the hell to progress past a training level in a cycling game, game bad. I'd rather play a driving game where you control a car with no wheels with a MMO gaming mouse that has all 17 buttons assigned to random conflicting directions.

Few things to say:
- No energy management by AI - They either go full out until blow up, or basically stop riding so they can regain energy. Simply stupid to see on some mountain stages where peloton goes hard for like 15 km only to basically stop for final 3 km before summit.
- Predictible - after riding like 3 TdF you can easily tell where breakaway is going to be caught, where breakaway can actually go away, what time will breakaway have at specific moment of stage(!)... (amazing "blockade" on some stages on 5 minutes mark, like 50 km of racing when time difference neither goes higher or lower than 5 minutes). Heck, on almost every single stage there is a certain "scenario" going on. And it repeats every single TdF. Fun, for sure...
- Stupidity of AI - Yes, AI in this game is simply stupid. F.e: Direct Energie "chasing" breakaway for first flat 60 km on Colombier stage... with all 8 riders... not letting breakaway having more than 30 seconds. No matter how many riders are in it or what riders... Only to have one of TDE riders to attack after it and join breakaway. Yep. Every. Single. Time.
- Create your own rider - Yep, that's negative. If you want to do so, buy PCM, not this game. Stat increase is basically impossible at higher difficulty. And I mean only Champion by that. You pick climber for example. When you reach an amazing 68 in mountain, the only way for this stat to increase is by either winning mountain stages(!), or winning at least 2nd category climbs(!!). I want to ask anyone who was creating this game. How you are supposed to do so with rider with 68 MO? You can't increase your stats unless you're winning. Can't win having that low stat. And no, decreasing difficulty isn't an option. Unless you want to play on amateur and win Tour with... I don't know... Ben Hermans for example.
- No crashes of riders. At all. I completed like 50 different TdF so far. I saw only one rider having crash. One. And it was most random crash I have ever seen in my life.
- Real time weather (rain / wind) is basically non existent. Oh, you say there are some sectors with potential wind? If only it was possible to actually do something in those sectors... like splits for example. I don't know.
- Comments on breakaway runners are NEVER correct. Including riders not riding in race at all.
Surely there are much more things to add... Is it worth it? If you are cycling fan... Maybe, yeah. If you want to buy this game for creating you own cyclist, buy Pro Cycling Manager.
Leaving thumbs up, but if it was possible, I would leave like... "Meh".

At it's best, Tour de France 2020 is actually a good game. But as much as I'd like to sing it's praises, in it's more or less 'finished' state this year I cannot. This series still feels more like a tech demo than a finished game.
The main game modes (Pro Team/Leader) set you up for failure, because at first you have access to so few events that you can't achieve the ranking you need, unless you achieve unrealistically good results for your relative team strength. Even then, you're still at the mercy of the simulation in races you can't compete in. And in pro leader specifically, getting your rider into breakaways is a nightmare, especially when the peloton adamantly refuses to let a larger group dangle.
If you get through the early game hell, what you're left with is still a game with less depth than Cyanide's other cycling game, PCM. TDF does have an advantage in gameplay, as well as how it handles race day condition (seriously, what were they thinking with PCM 20?), but PCM is simply better when it comes to everything that happens between races.
Even then, TDF wouldn't be getting a negative score from me if not for the fact that the developers recently gave the console versions of the game a major update... and failed to provide that update to PC players. I don't understand why we were denied this update. We're paying customers just like the console players, and maybe multiplayer was too hard to implement on PC this year, but surely they could've at least given us the rest of the update?
Unfortunately, that lack of support sapped my interest in trying to overcome the pro team/leader early game and have fun with it. If you still want this game, try to get the console version.

If you are a cycling fan and like the Tour de France! This game will put you on the run to get ahead of the peloton. Even if you never participated in a Cycling race event the ordeal, the sweat the pain and tears and its details you will have fun and learn how difficult it is to be the champion of this incredible tournament. This game is just incredible in my opinion!

The only controllable cycling sim there is.
Beware career mode has NO stat progression system for real riders. The age doesn't change, the stats don't change. I think this game is incredibly overpriced just because it has a monopoly on the cycling genre.
