7/10 I just started, but this is a cute fun base/ship defense game. I wish I found it sooner. Each character has their own abilities and can be more useful than the others at times, but it's really what fits your own play style. Can be stressful at times, but it's fun; definitely even more so in multiplayer.

Ironically, you'd be a fool if you bought this game and you'd be foolish if you didn't buy this game. I cannot recommend this game more. This game is a brilliant action economy roguelike that pushes you and your fellow fool to constantly adapt and adjust to firing the cannons, repelling invaders, loading the cannons, deflecting projectiles, moving the cannons and so forth. The learning curve is gentle but it is easy to overextend. I love that this game, rather than punishing you for not being good enough at it, punishes you for not being a solid team player. I look forward to playing this game for many more hours to come with as many fools as I can find!
P.S. I highly recommend purchasing now with the latest bundle pack.

As much as I love this game on coop.
If you are a solo player
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!
Solo game is the most frustrating, unbalannced and unfair experience I ever had in a game.
And it is not in a Darks Souls style of being hard.
More on a level that you either have perfect RNG on a run (or keep cheating and reseting if you don't) or you are just doomed no matter your skill. Even with perfect RNG with items, you can just get not doable set of attacks or wave of enemies. Basically everything is the samewith difficulty, but you are alone, good luck with that.
Also I think it's a wasted potential, that we have only 2 players coop and not up to 4, since there are clearly 4 places for the cannon on the ship. And it's a lot to do with 2 people.

When you have played the game for a while there is a modification that you can unlock to the sound effects that brings me (and hopefully you) constant joy.

Game is a lot of fun if you enjoy roguelites and co-op games. Its cute and punny, and lots to unlock, there are a lot of new characters to discover aside from the many you can also get from the DLC's.
It isnt too hard of a roguelite but does require you pay attention because it can get hectic! there are couple of in game mods to various aspects of the game which are pretty fun

After you beat the 3rd boss, the game freezes and makes you fight him again. We did that, and in the 2nd go we lost most of our supplies. Most people run into this problem very often. There is no fix. This is an issue that has persisted for more than a year, and the devs continue to do nothing.

Beat the heads boss with the craziest run ever. And got the bug that doesn't let you progress past the boss. A literal whole year after it was first discovered. POG.

Overpriced. Though I'm glad somebody decided to make a co-op rougelike. as those are two of my favorite genres, it just isn't that good. First 10-15 runs were pretty fun, but after that the story ends and it gets pretty repetitive. You do unlock different weapons and upgrades over time, but they don't really change much, usually just something along the line of "+10 dmg. + 15% reload speed", or new bullets, that have the same exact effects as the ones you already had, but more damage.
The game attempts to bring some interesting synergies on the table, but usually they don't really pan out due to RNG and your boat's limitations. For example you can have a Bomb generator and an artifact that increases bomb's damage and reload speed, but all these things take valuable space on your boat, and since you have to wait for Bombs to reload you will have to have some other ammo anyway and because of RNG you are not at all guaranteed to get the right combo, at which point you might just save some space and not use Bombs at all. I find myself using the same artifact combos over and over again.
The Bosses are some of the least challenging rooms in the game (those would be random rooms where a thousand enemies spawn at once and there literally is no way to kill them all in time) and aren't very interesting. There is a difficulty scaling mechanic after you've fitst beaten the main boss, but again it doesn't really add anything new, just artificially inflates the difficulty (enemies have more health etc.)
Despite the very simple graphics, it runs terribly. In the lobby I only get around 20fps, and game start stuttering real bad after more than 10 enemies are on the screen at once. And I can run Doom Eternal on 120 fps no problem.
Minus points for locking achievements behind overpriced DLC's, that again, don't really add anything.
TL;DR: Not a bad game if you don't have anything to play with a friend over the weekend, but it's definitely not worth the price
