The Dark Pictures Anthology: House Of Ashes House of Ashes , is the 3rd game in the Dark Pictures Anthology, and personally ? Its the best of the 4. - Characters The characters in this one are so well written , while yes they're annoying sometimes , Jason and Salim are both AMAZING characters so well written and voice acted , it makes me care about the characters im trying to save. The rest of the cast nails what they're aiming too as well! - Story While the story is a bit slow and all over the place sometimes, the ending section and the monsters in this game tops all of the rest. The ending also felt super satisfying ! Overall i LOVED HOUSE OF ASHES i highly recommend it!

This little gem sat in my library for years without being played. I had no idea how enthralling it would be.

Absolutely great game, in my opinion the best dark pictures game in the whole of season 1.

Must play if you are two people, probably not as fun solo, feels like its one of the shorter Dark Pictures games but still a good one

It's basically a horror B-movie and a choice-your-own-adventure book at the same time. I loved it so much that I immediately started a second playthrough to explore different options and get everyone out alive. There are plenty of clichés, tropes, and oh-my-god-I-totally-saw-that-coming… moments, but for what it lacks in originality it certainly makes up for in execution. The story had me hooked and the pacing was just right. Also, I'm a sucker for a good enemy-warriors-forced-to-team-up-and-become-friends story, so I made sure my boys Salim and Jason ended this tale by riding off into the sunset together. There's one thing that I can't quite put my finger on though: House of Ashes is the least scary horror game I've ever played. It can be spooky, ominous, and even gory but aside from the very few jump-scares that this game has I've rarely ever felt a hint of fear. And I can't exactly claim to have nerves of steel. So take from that what you will: this game might not get your adrenaline and cortisol pumping, but it does offer a neat horror flick for a small price.
