I feel kinda bad writing a review for this seeing as it has almost no presence on Steam but I feel like it should be discussed for potential buyers. This entire bundle feels like a concept for games that are demos for the actual games that show a bit of the graphics, a couple of enemies, and very basic level design that hasn't even made it past the alpha stage of their respective games.
I will do a breakdown of each game (Yes, I played all the games and feel like I have had enough time to evaluate each of them in this amount of time... that is a red flag to begin with, right?)
V.O.I.D+
I bought this for this game because it looked interesting and I enjoy platform games. I play a lot of Levelhead for speedrun/points fun against the creators/followers I have so I'm a very advanced platformer. This game... I don't even know if I want to call it that, is levels of a few platforms, some enemies, currency called shards that are all over the place which only purpose is to collect 100 to get another life... and that is it. You get to the end of the level and it shows some text about a very bland storyline and sends you to the next level. let's go over the problems with this:
* The skeleton hitbox is off so you can get hurt if you jump on it's head which is the only way you can hurt enemies if you're the female character
* There's no scoring system, so killing enemies doesn't matter and collecting shards literally only gives you lives if you collect 100
* The shards reset each level so even if you had 99 and go through the exit, you restart at 0
* The music is on a loop and the loop stops for a good second or two before restarting aka complete background music silence. I thought the music was initiating a boss fight or some event the first time it happened, but I was completely wrong
* If you're the male character, you can get hit multiple times before you lose a life, but you can't run and instead shoot a gun. The female character only has one health but can run and has no weapon. It feels incredibly unbalanced for characters that have no goal except to reach the end of the level
* You can double jump, but if you jump into a wall and press jump again, you can get another jump. This is an example of how floaty and off the controls feel
Uchusen
This game was very short, like incredibly short.. It was 3 levels! It was like a demo for a game that was never made. It's a sidescrolling shooter that has very little substance.
* The boss for all three levels is the exact same enemy. If you sit right below the boss' line of fire and get close enough to spam shoot it with a 3 way power-up to where it hits it with all three of them, you can easily kill it in about 2 seconds
* The 3 way power-up is incredibly op to the point where you can just fire while sitting in the middle of the screen and kill everything before they shoot at you or even spawn into your line of sight
* Collecting more than one 3 way power-up doesn't upgrade it again (Which is understandable with a game having only 3 levels)
* Your score resets after every level and there's no leaderboard for comparison to see how well you did so it also feels like points don't matter in the slightest
* When using a controller, you can only use the joystick. This is a big no no for me in an arcade shooter game. I want to have the precise movement of being able to go up and down without accidentally moving forwards or backwards due to a joystick range of motion... not that this hindered me in any way. I beat it without getting hurt once which isn't really much to brag about honestly
Ploid
This game was exactly like V.O.I.D+ but with a couple more problems added to it
* There were secret areas (If there was any in V.O.I.D+ I guess I just didn't look enough) that you have to go through areas that you can't see your character and wall jump to reset your jumps to get through
*There's more enemies, but some are worse than having new enemies (there's a velociraptor looking enemy that you can't hurt by jumping on it, so for trial and error with the female character, you just die
* The velociraptor glitched at the end of a level on the edge of the screen so when I went to end the level, it just killed me instead over and over until I quit... yes, it glitched there permanently for multiple lives
* The top part of the level isn't capped, so you can jump up to the top of it and walk around, but I got stuck up there and had to reset
* There was an attempt of adding new gameplay mechanics to the levels; for instance there was a water level ... aka infinite jumps with the controls being even more floaty, but it just made it worse to play that level and all I did was spam jump across the tops of level platforms to speed through the level
They did fix the skeleton hitbox in this one, made everything a triple jump instead of wall jumping to get a triple jump, and didn't have a pause in the looping music
Uchusen 2
This was a shoot em up instead of a sidescroller so it was a bit different, but it also had many problems just like the first one... and by that I mean it had all of the first one's problems, then some of it's own
* The power-ups give you a shield, a special attack, and two ships that fly with you and shoot homing missiles which also stack (I had a ship with 5 health, 3 special attacks, and 6 homing ships on a run) so it's possible to not even move and just shoot until you beat the level. For a game that's too easy to have homing aspects is ridiculous
* This has only one level but instead of the game ending, it repeats the level over and over. I tried it 4 times to make sure I wasn't wrong then lost interest in wanting to find out if I'm right or not
I bought this bundle on sale for under $2 and I still wouldn't suggest you buy it when it's that price. There's so little content without achievements or trading cards that is just bad bland gaming, so I suggest you not waste your time. I know this review is long, but I just wanted to give every part of my experience to people so they know how this game actually is... the only other review must be a developer, friend, or paid review because not even a child that never played games before would enjoy this boring mess. I've played many MANY free games with more content that don't even have a way to pay them for the experience and I feel like I actually wasted my time and money playing this "collection", and I look for terrible games to play because old school games like Hylide and Skulls & Crossbones were build on terrible gaming aspects but that's what made them difficult and interesting. I think I could say this better...
I like Overwatch... Still
