staple for good games from the old days, have been a fan of this series for years and decided to pick it back up after seeing it come across my page.

Overall, I enjoyed Overlord II. The music is absolutely fantastic and really adds to the atmosphere. The humor and tone are still here, and controlling your little chaos goblins is as fun as ever.
That said, some things felt undercooked.
The mounts mechanic is a good example — it's only used in one specific location and then never again. It felt like a missed opportunity, as if it was added just to check a box rather than being a meaningful feature.
Personally, I liked the first Overlord more — it had a tighter design and more charm overall.
But this sequel is still worth playing if you liked the original. It’s not as memorable, but it's definitely a decent follow-up.

Overlord 2 an classic old game that a lot of us older folks might have seen as kids and something fun, not much you would find like it today. Overlord 2 is quirky , funny and quite some fun. However while I'd encourage ppl to play it and give it a whirl, I would not advice this game to people to pick it up without having a look first. The game can be very hard to give clear Directions ( I was never told I had magic Room in my Bed Chamber) or quests finishing because I did something and wasn't aware it was to decide if I killed or not killed. or a misinput getting you stuck which can be very very annoying. if you don't mind you can't 100% domination or destruction go ahead and otherwise learn to alt F4 and load from your last auto save

8/10 evil pikmin meets fable. everything that the first overlord does, this one does better! the minion pathfinding, while still not great, is much better than the first one. the minions themselves are chock full of character, and now they've got mounts! the game is still touch and go on the graphics side, with graphics that weren't great for their time, but pretty average. the aesthetic overall tho is saved with a pretty amusing soundtrack, lovely art direction, and fun level design. in this one, instead of going up against lord of the rings pastiche, you're fighting against asterix and obelisk style romans. the sensible chuckle worthy writing is still here as well.
my main complaint is that life-force and gold are harder to come by naturally in overlord 2, n thus require a decent amount of grinding if you're a 100%er. once again, 8/10
