This game touched my soul. My name is Kevin and this game made me wise and learn from Kevin's mistakes. This game changed my life, I would not be where I am today without this game.

The Wizard is a turn-based puzzle game with RPG elements. After the young wizard's apprentice wakes up without a face, a magical hunt for the face thief unfolds. The pixel graphics and sound are well designed and the selection of spells invites for experimentation. Depending on the enemy type, different combinations are suitable. At some points the game gets really tricky, but it is the WizHarder Edition after all. The game comes without an interactive tutorial, after a few minutes as a sorcerer's apprentice you get used to the controls and wildly throw the spells with the help of the mouse control through the levels. Overall a lovingly designed, entertaining indie action puzzle game. 10/10 would buy again!

Playing Kevin trying to get back his face is quite an adventure - the graphics are polished, the music is great, the story is funny. Best of all though is the very cool and intuitive magic system. If I'd have any gripe with the game it might be that it's more of a puzzle game than a "real" dungeon crawler, but this is just matter of taste than quality. Full disclaimer: I know the developers and playtested the game a bit.

Game is nice, I love the system of having to use the skill multiple times to strengthen it. Its also easy to upgrade, just a bit grindy but it feels like actual training and not just random assortment of points. Grinding the skills makes the game easier but even with max upgrade, player is still defeatable and I like that. Only wish I have is keybinding to spells. Repeated gestures is painful for my wrist

I already played the web edition years ago, so the story and gameplay weren't all new to me. But the level design and gameplay has improved massively with much better graphics, and interesting new traits to enemies than the web version, which is available on Armor Games. Personally, the joy of unlocking brand new spells while advancing along the levels is one of the more addictive aspects of it, whilst being a puzzle turn-based game that requires you to play your spells right and not die. The sound design is a lot more catchy with the tunes that do get stuck in your head, and it does add a sense of being in a magical castle which I personally like, and this sense of immersion is fun. Comparing to flash, there is now enemies that are weak to certain spells and are immune to effects as well which does add some depth to enemies and where you can exploit their weaknesses. Again, the game is in early access so you can influence the game's development.

+ Levels have a lot of secrets to unlock and explore. + Elegant toolkit for combat, and status effects. + Spells are pretty intuitive, and the casting system is unique. + Puzzle roguelike energy, think Drod. + Quirky, chibi pixel art, with modern environmental effects. - For a puzzle game, a lot of the games resources are contingent to performance on previous puzzles for potions and etc. - Scoring system is thematic, but doesn't really make sense. - No sense of urgency to actually get your face. - Gameplay is more roguelike and combat gauntlet than puzzles, which was disappointing to me, I was hoping for more quirky puzzles.

Cool little Game that you can 100% within ~3 hours. I really enjoyed my time - the spells are fun and creative, the story is light and not too serious, the music is fitting and not annoying over time. The only thing I am missing is the replay value. Otherwise big thumbs up. o/
