Say what you want about its sounding western. It actually has its charm.

I wanted to give this game a shot because I'm interested in feudal Japan however it's sufficient to say that this game is not very well-made. For one the voice actors can be annoying at times and it would have been better if this game wasn't voice acted at all and maybe put more original content in the game instead. Also the story feels like a little clumsy and like an anime-ish interpretation of what this time period was like (another user called this "westernized POV" which is also true of course but given the art style I had to make this remark). The art itself is drawn okay but I find it rather inappropriate to use anime art style for media set in serious historical events. Just a personal preference. The main character is an annoying little b*tch and rather smug. I suppose this is accurate to the real Lord Kobayakawa but neverthanless makes me question who would make a game about a figure like him who was unremarkable and is mostly remembered today for being a failure and a traitor who drank himself to death and went insane before hand. It could have had potential as a game but this is not it.

This game caught my eye (price) and I thought I would give it a try because I love the lore from Japan's feudal period. The art is ok. The story however seems weak and very much from the perspective of "western" eyes than those from that time period. However the nail in the coffin for me is how horrible the character is that you are given to experience. As much as I tried I could not relate to or have any empathy for the whiny and pathetic character who's choices don't really matter. If there was an option for my character to commit seppuku I would have done so immediately!!! I would not recommend anyone else have to sit through this. It is a shame since this game could have had some potential.
