This is a super cute little OEL otome. The art is charming, the worldbuilding is good (I'd love to see more happen in this world), and Celsia is a novel otome protagonist. Where many (localized) otome MCs are generally more kind and selfless*, Celsia is unabashedly selfish and ambitious. I like all the guys but Glem is my personal favorite. *This is not me putting these MCs down, just wanting a greater variety in personality at times.

Highly Recommended A beautiful fun story, amazing artwork and music. Characters are unique. If you like Visual novel and a well written story, grab it while it's on special.

Well written and the characters have some depth. The romance is overt, so getting on the route you want is fairly intuitive.

Really wish Steam had a more nuanced rating system. 5/10 +1 for deep lore -1 for items you never use +1 for colorful art and expressive faces -1 for no real sense of agency (the choices don't really matter) -1 for lots of talking but not much action -1 for being remarkably predictable +1 for dialog being somewhat nuanced -1 for living with dudes/bathing with them around but the game acting weird about you kissing them I got two endings, I don't know if there are more than that. It's weird; despite the "revolutionary change" your character brings about in either ending, it feels like just another Tuesday.

It's a fun game, it is short but that's to be expected at this price. I've achieved two endings so far and I really enjoyed them. The characters are fun and the conversations and remarks that the mc says are quite funny sometimes. The art is really great too and the cg scenes are beautiful. I highly recommend this, a good game for the price.

Was looking for something short and lighthearted to play while I was bored, and I think this game lived up to that pretty well. Nothing spectacular comes to mind when I think of it, but I can say that it was an enjoyable distraction. I was smitten with the colorful artwork and unique character designs even if there were a few CG's that looked off proportion-wise. Furthermore, the amount of high quality CG's, sprites, and background illustrations is amazing and a pleasant surprise coming from a small visual novel developer. There are also a lot of chibis and multiple endings with some variations that make the game feel more "complete". The music is unremarkable but serves well enough for background noise. One of my favorite things about Absolute Alchemical Potion is the worldbuilding - despite it being a relatively short experience overall, there are a lot of cool details and thought put into the lore of the universe. Everything just works. Loved the creative applications of magic and alchemy and all the rules of the world that make me want to probe deeper into its history. I would say it's worth full price at only 7 dollars. Celsia is an entertaining protagonist as well. While I can't regard it as an otome masterpiece, if you do decide to play then know you're in for a small treat of a game that you probably won't regret. Unless you actually did hope to find the secret to immortality, in which case you will be left disappointed.
Quick thoughts with accompanying screenshots and video in Sinical Network
https://www.sinicalanimenetwork.com/post/absolute-alchemical-potion-quick-thoughts Absolute Alchemical Potion is Lotos Project's first visual novel release on Steam. It is an otome romance and fantasy visual novel featuring a female alchemist Celsia working in seclusion to brew a potion of immortality. Unfortunately, she failed in her attempt, so she enlists the help of a mage, her contract-bound demon-raven familiar, and her golem servant to figure out what went wrong, and to gather another set of ingredients to make a new potion. Absolute Alchemical Potion has plenty of attractive art in the form of blinking eyes, speech balloons, different-coloured character names, and cute chibis. This visual novel also has progressively unlockable story lore in the form of items in your bag and highlighted keywords in the glossary. In terms of background music, Orchestic and Shy by GentlePunk help to bring out the fantasy and romance themes in the story and are very pleasant to listen to. There are a few cons though, with the first being that the cute and expressive character artwork does not always match the tone of the text. This could be a disconnect where possibly I am not properly understanding the jokes, or that the jokes simply lack enough humour. There is also no save/load file organization present, such as having multiple pages or sections that you save your game into. With the game having four routes with multiple endings, this makes finding the save file that you want to use to target a particular route or ending quite challenging as you scroll through one long list of save files. It took around 4 hours to reach all endings and complete all the achievements. Helpful status window and ending conditions are clearly defined to help players get all endings and achievements. Although Absolute Alchemical Potion is somewhat short, it is a good otome fantasy romance visual novel to pick up when it is discounted to be more proportional to the playing time, and I hope this game will qualify for trading cards and normal profile features in future.
Pros
- Good artwork and BGM - Interesting characters and in-game lore - Well-defined player status and progress
Cons
- A little short to justify buying at full price - Humour could be brought out more - Issues with saving and loading game
Visual novel, JRPG, Anime Steam group - Join the group and consider following the group's curator list for more reviews or otome romance visual novels with at least one good ending
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/vnislife

Absolute Alchemical Potion is a lighthearted (finally \o/) visual novel where you can romance three lovely guys: mage, golem and half demon-half raven. That magical setting is quite exciting. If possible, I'd choose a neutral review, I can't say it made me too emotional. It's an ok game for one completion, I'm sure I won't replay it. Things I disliked: -sprites aren't to my liking. There're lots of CGs in the game but only some of them looked appealing. Though I enjoyed all the chibi images and bgs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2552021209 -I hate dating sims. All that stat-raising is annoying af. The main story is not very long and then you just have to play again and again just to achieve slightly different results story-wise. That was too repetitive and boring for me. If I weren't a completionist I'm not sure I'd like to waste time to replay(=skip) the game just for not very pretty final CGs and short different ending scenes. -not that it was of great importance but you can't choose a name for MC and I got used to that a lot. Playing becomes more personal when I can insert myself into MC, she=me. Here it was more like observing from the side, not experiencing myself. -the feature I extremely HATE is moving/shaking background when I'm reading. Maybe I'm stupid, explain me someone why is that even used in visual novels?! Have devs ever tried reading while running, for example, when your book is shaking in your hands?! Why, what for are you torturing your poor readers, stop, please! (`□′)╯┴┴ Use sound effects if you want to create a more immersive effect or shake everything you wanted and THEN make the text appear. Seriously, I was about to quit the game just because of that. -save/load slots are inconvenient, they are always at the beginning and you have to either click at a side rhombus but you can only guess which one you need or scroll till the necessary empty slot and I save before every choice and there're a lot of them in the story which is a good feature but... -The game is created by my native Russian devs, I checked both languages and the translation is not perfect. I mean, my complaints are mainly about punctuation but still it was a bit distracting to see Russian quotation marks, hyphens instead of dashes or !.. instead of English …! Though I admit the translator did a great job in general. -I met one case of plot inconsistency, it happened only once but still left an unpleasant aftertaste. My first play-through I don't follow any guides or don't pursue any specific love option, I just choose what I like. So all the characters got lots of stats and I didn't end up with anyone. I knew
the mage was in exile without any details which I learnt in his route but at the end MC worried he'd tell the Academy about her failure
Sorry, what O_o What I really enjoyed: +Three very handsome love options. I love fantasy topics. Though the story was short, it was captivating enough. I wanted something relaxing, I got that. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2552602639 +menu is neatly organized. The list of endings and epilogues with the hints how to achieve them is very convenient. Plus, there's a well written steam guide for the game. +lots of achievements. It turned out I can't enumerate lots of positive features but actually all my complaints are minor but the whole experience was rather pleasant. Welp, in general, it was a nice lighthearted visual novel I think I can recommend it even with kinda too many cons from me xD Sorry, devs, I hope I wasn't too harsh. Good luck with your next project. I'll be happy to try that game too.

[th]Find more in a Reading Nook [/th]
