A Game of Humans Reviews

A sandbox village simulation fundamentally about people, their thoughts and their needs. Luckily they are not alone in their burden, for you possess divine powers. And you would surely never add to the plight of the common man... Right?

I spent a few hours on the game, and I really have to say that I look forward to a more developed product. At this stage its a little clunky and a few bugs. The game definately has interesting prospects, I would love to see the ability to extract taxes from the ungrateful masses :). Also some kind of control or stimulus of the economy, where the wealthy part of the population has an ability to spend money to show off. (perhaps carpenters can make some nice statues for the filthy rich to buy?) But there is 100% potential for the game to grow. I felt very sad for the villager who bought the forresting plot, when the baker made 100s of coins selling bread the poor soul only made a few selling his logs for 0.02 coin.

I really like city/village building games and A Game of Humans is unique in this genre. It is still unfinished and sometimes it feels a bit hollow, but the DEVs are slowly but shurely updating the game and I'm sure it will be even better by the end of 2022. I really like seeing AGame of Humans being built up from the ground and I personally don't mind waiting for new things :)

A Game of Humans AKA "The Flip of the Coin",nice conception about complex personalities, the most rudimentary programming algorithm..simply the random "flip of the coin"..very tedious and annoying..so if U wanna good base, then save..>try>reload>infinitely..till U got a usable personality..the carpentry also bugged :-@ I would be happy to pay more if it were playable and not so painfully empty.Ty It may work if U choose carefully chars (save/reload)The first job most be carpenter.Have just one prophet/believe .. P.S. Dear Devs! Edge scrolling absolutely required !! Ty.

I'm normally a bit sceptical to early access games but in this case I was pleasantly suprised. I started building my settlement and suddenly 3 hours had gone by. The calming music and nice visuals made the game relaxing and I felt quite excited to expand and improve my settlement, managed to make it huge. For an early access game i see this as a great foundation to add on to and I see a lot of potential, look forward to seeing how this game will grow, will stay tuned!

The game in it's current state is not worth the price, and the developers have been dead silent for over a year. It had future, but now its just a stale game that you get bored of after a couple hours.

The game has a very good start of civilization simulation although the process to build houses and other building seems a bit random and definitely tedious. I must say, for the features it has so far, the speed is really slow, I have been playing on x4 speed throughout. I am looking forward to more features such us other jobs, politics, other crops... It is nice, but now I don't know what else to do...

This game has so much potential and is fairly unique. Something close to a cross between early Sim City and god games like Black and White but with a focus on the individuals impacts on the economy. Still very early access at the moment, but the bones are promising and still very playable with promise of much more to come. Definitely worth supporting and fun even in the current early state.

Just some feedback because I want to like this game. Game was just released too early. There isn't even 2 hours of gameplay in this game yet and that means most will ask for a refund. I think the other problem is due to the lack of content the devs tried to drag the gameplay out by making the building of stuff extremely slow. Put it this way. I had a population of 10 with 2 carpenters. In 2 hours I finished making 2 out of 10 houses I had on the map. Your guys pretty much do nothing but talk to each other. Production balance is broken too. As you can only build one bakery (well you can build more than 1, but only 1 will get a worker). He can't make enough bread for everyone because he's screwing around all day talking to everyone. So to recap my first gameplay. I pretty much got everything possible down on the map in the first 20 minutes with a build order of House, workplace, house, workplace.... Then the next hour and 40 minutes I sat their on speed 4X and watched them build 2 houses, 1 carpenter shop, and 1 bakery. Mostly though I watched my guys talk to each other, sleep, and molest the bushes. Then I was like... Weeeeeeeee and requested a refund. I'll try the game again later when it has more content and they rebalance the game so the build time isn't 40 minutes per building. Right now though I feel like they don't have a choice because if the build time wasn't the slower than a 3 legged mule, running through molasses in January then you would literally have about 20 minutes of gameplay/content.

This is a qualified and optimistic recommend. I had a nice time. In 90 minutes, I hit all of the content that the game currently has, which means I feel like it's overpriced for what it is now. But it's a nice relaxing experience, and I'm a very heavy player of this genre. Hopefully, the game will fill out and be a richer experience. (Right now, the needs of the people don't seem to have any real relevance. I assume this will change over time.)

A Game of Humans Review (Early Access) This is game is not large enough for a Pros and Cons list yet. It's so hard to recommend this game at its current stage. The tipping point was the price. You really are paying for the future development. I have no issues with supporting an Indie Developer, but it's bleak at the moment. The game is very simple (for now): The Carpenter 1. You use your Faith to get 1 Human 2. Create a house for them to purchase/build (Plot) -Without a Carpenter you have no walls/floors 3. Create a Carpenter Business (Plot) 4. Create a Storage Yard (Placing Logs/Wheat) The Human will then begin to remove any brush/bushes or trees on his recently purchased plot. He will do this and only this until all the highlighted foliage is removed. He will not prioritize building shelter over this so you have to be careful on how much you task him. This early in the game you do not have bread to feed your humans so he will forage for berries quite frequently. This is where things get odd. I keep running into a loop with this one person where he just forages for berries on loop because him eating isn't satisfying enough for him so he just keeps going around looking for berries on the same two bushes. He will not place logs straight from where they were cut down. He has to put them in the Storage first, which is annoying. The Farmer 1. You use your Faith to get 1 Human 2. Create a house for them to purchase/build (Plot) 3. Create a Farm (Plot) Your Farmer will then start setting up his tool shelf (in his empty house) and start planting Wheat. This is fairly straight forward. Once it's ready he will harvest the wheat and place it in the Storage. The Baker 1. You use your Faith to get 1 Human 2. Create a house for them to purchase/build (Plot) 3. Create a Bakery (Plot) This Human will build his stone ovens and his racks in his empty house and then use the Wheat to create bread which satiates your Human's far more than Berries. Gripes 1. The speed of the game is broken down in 1-4. 1 being real time and 4 being the "fastest" which is skipping time 3 seconds. This is extremely slow which causes you to sit there and wait, and wait some more. 2. AI don't prioritize tasks -They would rather cut down a bush (that is not in their path) before building a shelter which makes them happier and provides mood boosts 3. When doing said tasks they take forever to do said task and in the illogical order. For the sake of example you can have 2 Bushes and 3 Trees. Your Human will cut one bush down, walk over and put down his Scythe and pick up his Axe and chop down 1 tree. Walk over to his bench and switch to the scythe and continue. He doesn't realize that he has one tool and can remove multiple pieces with that tool. Sometimes he does in larger amounts say 10 trees and 6 bushes but he still switches in and out. 4. Realistically you would work for the majority of the day and then use your free time to socialize with others; not in this game. The Humans love to talk, and will build two walls and talk to someone, eat berries/bread and then move more logs over to the plot (even if there's some in place) and then socialize again. They will go to sleep and wait until the next day to start building. 5. The jobs are lacking and it's extremely basic at the moment. There's a lot planned. The developer has a Roadmap and it's in public view, but for $17.99 that's a big no. Overall I made my decisions and had my thoughts prior to the 2 hour mark but decided to keep it because I want to see this game grow. This game has TREMENDOUS potential. If you want to support the developer in the long run then purchase and experience it. Pass your suggestions/feedback on and sit back. This game seems more hands off based on the speed of the game. It's my largest gripe as stated above. If I want to speed up my game and experience a much faster game then that's my bidding. That's the whole point of different speed levels.
