While it's still in early access, this game has so so so much to recommend it. Great fun and a great community to boot. Definitely one you should check out. The balance of farming to pirating is perfect!

Great game! It's still in early access so there isn't a ton of content to explore right now but it's worth your time. I've tried playing a few different pirate mmos but none of them really captured me until this game. Once all of the islands are released, this game is going to be amazing. It has a lot of potential and deserves support. The team developing this game is open to player input and suggestions. They seem to genuinely care about what their players want to see in the future.

The game feels like it has potential and maybe it will grow and get better.
However, the game has no players. And the community has serious issues. Theres a large number of complaints of lag (I've had lag spikes myself too, not too bad) But I've never seen anyone complaining about lag have their issue taken seriously.
The discord is full of people who just mock those having issues, implying because they personally have no issues, nothing is wrong.
This game runs on one server from what I can tell, and if you have a bad route to that US server you are screwed. Check for newer reviews then mine for a more up to date opinion.
As rude as these people act I don't see it ever hovering over the 1-2 active players it currently has.

Has potential to be a great game. Nice graphics, well polished but adding repetitive 'turn based' style combat in ruins it. It doesn't fit the game play at all. The fun aspects of the game PVP, ship battles etc are none existent due to no player base - Hopefully picks up traction but that land combat style is a killer for me.

Wonderful indie game that captures the retro charm of old SNES classics with a modern multiplayer twist. For someone who is a fan of games like Final Fantasy 6, Zelda A Link to The Past, or Harvest Moon, this game is like all 3 of them combined with the option to play multiplayer! Mike the developer has done an amazing job creating this game, and I'm really happy to be able to play it. It is a certified gem in my book.

i was very excited to play this, but after buying it and realizing production has stopped its become very disheartening. no updates even after i purchased it a year later. people are mad for the hack and slash elements, i don't understand the gripe myself but i like it and the real time combat as well. right now the game is very dead. low player base and to really get somewhere you need help, you can grind for days to get the ship that you need to take on stuff higher up but honestly its not worth it. as high hopes i had for this, this is the first game on steam where i wish i could get my $10 back

Really fun experience exploring.
Finding quest items is tricky at first, there is no real quest markers which is really cool, you kind of need to learn the zones/areas and what drops what.
The ship combat is really enjoyable. Skill based shots and kiting around enemies.
Voyages are the "raids" it feels like and they're not too long which is nice, so far I've only done two and they were pretty easy to pick up, the second one was challenging and seemed like you'd need a group or to be over leveled. They're a combo of ship combat and then land combat.
The land combat leaves a lot to be desired (turn based), it seemed a little clunky, I couldn't really tell if it was lag due to the early access load, but it seemed like sometimes my defensive/offensive switching was not actually working right. Some monsters died before my attack animation finishes.
Crafting seemed a little wonky for a lot of players, I am guessing it's not in an entirely stable state, however, I had 0 issues.
Overall pretty fun time playing, there were a few noticeable bugs but mostly nothing series, will continue to play probably.
One quick aside I think the current plan is to keep all items from the play tests/early access phase, which seems odd and not really great imo for a new MMO, but that's their choice. If it was up to me I would at the very least wipe the items/gold of all accounts at launch.

This game was legit awesome and then for whatever reason they switched into some dumb half-assed hack n slash thats literally so bad it plays like it would be on an NES game. I have way more than 7 hours since i did the playtests so its not like i logged in for a couple hours and wrote this review. This game couldve easily been in my top 5 favorite games of all time until they made the crap n slash style for the battles. Hopefully they change it, but i still wish them luck.. However just be warned that you wont see the shitty part of the game that im complaining about until you cant refund it. The ship combat is totally a nostalgic 10/10. The first voyage is AAA content. I'll definitely be watching for updates but i cant recommend it in its current state
