I like this game. There is though a ton of downtime. What did you expect in a fishing game? Also don't bother with the cargo missions, they will take you forever and not give you much in return.

I would recommend for something relaxing. I would recommend not using the auto drive feature so much, it will ruin the experience and use more gas. Sometimes it will crash you into stuff, then you need to repair your ship. I've had that happen a couple times. Sometimes the bait fill bar doesn't move and you won't notice you are out of bait.

Definitely a fun sim, learning curve in the beginning is a little steep, while there are tutorials for each type of fishing they leave some stuff out that you find on your own, lots of trial and error. I am NOT a fan of Deadliest Catch, Ive never seen it, so my enjoyment from this game is purely based game play and not so much the specific genre of the sim. My go to games are ARPGs (not that diablo fecal pile) and when its time to change pace I jump into my renamed boat Wet Dreams haul in the fish.
If you are into realistic (as can be without being boring) simulations, I would surely suggest this game

This is literally the best fishing sim I have ever played. I am hooked, no pun intended lol. No more standing on a shore and casting that line, get out to the deep sea and throw those pots!
Trust me, if you're on the fence just buy it. I judged a book by it's cover (thumbnail) for far too long and put this game off. The graphics are amazing and the fishing is a blast!
