What is it with this cat person and her multiple personas? And why am I coming back to her?
Nyanco Space is a challenging and short game. I finished it in maybe over 1 hour. Nyanco got kidnapped by aliens and you have to save her! Gameplay is very simple: Avoid the bad guys, jump over obstacles, eat food when you get hit to replenish health, pick up all the points and make it to the end. The game can be saved at the beginning before landing on the planet as well as halfway through and sometimes before the boss. The only thing I found a little disappointing was the art. I was also hoping for a little bit more fanservice. But maybe next time! Conclusion Nyanco Space is a nice little time waster as usual. Best enjoyed while streaming and talking with your friends while having a good time. So why am I coming back to playing these games? I think the most of it has to do with the fact that the developer making them just has fun doing so. And that's all what small little indie games need to be enjoyable.
At a Glance

(Adult) Content No.

Censorship Not applicable.

Hours of Gameplay Two hours.

Modding Support? No.

Patch Available? No.

Nyanco Space is a top-down obstacle dodgin' game about your adventure to rescue Nyanco (who's totally not a self-insert).
Gameplay
The goal is to collect cat coins while avoiding obstacles. There are a variety of enemies which will try to stop you, each with predictable movement patterns. You can be hit up to three times, then it's game over. By collecting apples, you can restore lost hit points. Hit points are not restored between stages, can only be restored by apples. There are a number of worlds to explore, each with their own aesthetic, gimmicks, and final boss fight. When fighting bosses, you can't actually attack them directly. Instead, you must exploit their movement patterns to put them in harm's way, allowing them to take damage. As the bosses and enemies get faster, you'll have to be quicker on your feet and take full advantage of your surroundings. (Unless you're really good) your hit points will become a resource, and you will trade them for precious cat coins.
Story
Nyanco was casually enjoying a walk in space when all of the sudden, a man in a suit beat her up. She's been taken hostage! As it turns out, she was on her way to a waltzin' date with you, and now you're stuck saving her. What do aliens want with Nyanco anyways? . . . perhaps, to probe. . . ? You must save Nyanco!
Visuals
While I did like how the title was drawn, it appeared abnormally blurry (as if too low a resolution to display properly on my screen). There is no "options" menu that I could find, which every game should have, even if only to mute sound. I did enjoy the animations and sprites. I haven't seen them before, and even if they aren't custom, they look great. I did see a few issues with upscaled sprites, which causes certain characters to look "blurry" (as a result of being up-sized without increasing detail). - The Goods - There is no adult content or nudity. . . not even fan service. No woot-woots to see here folks.
Verdict
This is a fun lil' game. The features and visuals left a lot to be desired, but this is otherwise a fun lil' game to pass the time. If don't know how I'd categorize this title, but if you like these kinds of games, I think this would be an easy change of pace for you.
