This game was a lot of fun in single player, but the recent co-op update has really turned Sentry into one of my current favorites. Collaborating on trap strategies and then switching to tight FPS combat is a great combo. My buddy and I have put a good number of hours into Orcs Must Die, and this scratches that same itch but with a sci-fi flavor. I love the slightly low-poly aesthetic, everything is easy to see and identify. It all reads very clearly, which is important in the heat of battle. I also find myself enjoying the music more and more...it'd be nice if it was on Spotify or something. It'd make good background music for studying or working. I also kind of wish the co-op would support 3 or 4 players, but I know that must be super hard to balance for this kind of game so I understand why it's only 2-player. That said, the way co-op works now is well thought out. Even just the simple fact that I can jump into my friend's in-progress single player run at any time is impressively easy.
Every update has improved the game a lot, and I can't wait to see how it continues to evolve throughout early access. It's a lot of fun now, but I bet it'll get even better!

Set traps, shoot guns, purge xenos. It's got pretty much everything. Enjoying the Early Access, looking forward to what comes next.

After 4 long painful hours I finally beat my first run!
Thanks to the Rivets! YAYYYYYYYYY! it's very fun but I suck at this game.. xD
Will play 8 more hours to beat the second run. (One more hour)

The coop is fun until you realize there is a limiting factor of lives. once you go through all the lives, whoever died first gets to spectate multiple rounds until you find a replenishment. This is very punishing for a game that is less fun than other coop FPS defense games. Game is well put together, but coop is garbage and that's the only reason I play these types of games.

Very fun game to play coop, really enjoyed the runs I did. The weapons feel good to use and the combat is varied enough to remain interesting (at least for now).

Fun to play with friends, I have a feeling it will be a lot more fun after it releases. The game is fully functioning and only has a few problems, nothing game breaking in my opinion. Pick it up if you want a fun way to shoot aliens with your friends for a few hours at a time.

This is a phenomenal game, and one that I recommend to anyone who is interested in FPS games but is looking for a single player alternative. I love how trap laying is an integral part of the game, and that each encounter can be "solved" using various traps, tricks, and strategies. This is slowly becoming one of my favorite games, since each runthrough is a new and fun experience.

The Overall feel of the gaming is fantastic from the music to the head shot impact. However, as other reviews mention, you end up fighting on the same map over and over again due to how the boarding parties navigation the ship. Should you ever lose a single mission, you will spend almost the entire time defending the core. The game feels pretty balanced; however, it would be nice to have a guide on the week spots of certain enemies, as some are not intuitive e.g. the default dog and the mother slug.
Additionally, in my opinion, the game is balanced, if you aim for their weak spots. Regarding the traps, you seemingly can clear almost everything with the upgraded version of the default traps. Moreover, some of the traps feel useless, e.g. the tart pit.
TLDR fun game, needs more length to the runs, though I hear the devs are adding endless/challenge modes.

Its too basic in what its offering, the concept is fun but nearly an hour in it just feels very repetitive.

Sentry almost reaches greatness with its solid gameplay but falls short due to the outside systems surrounding it.
The layout of the ship and multiple attack vectors incentives the player to neglect the outer sectors and focus on the two choke points leading to the core, leading to the same levels being played back to back for an entire run. This leads to a repetitive routine of defending the same two sectors and the core back to back, which is exacerbated by the lack of tools available to a new player, building the same set of traps on the same levels over and over again.
The core is there, the moment to moment gameplay is great. The lack of variety overall and enforced by the outside systems hinder it too much for me to recommend it.
