Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition Reviews

Spent more time installing updates, than actually flying!

I am playing a Microsoft game on a Microsoft OS with fully updated software and the game won't load (even after re-install). This has never happened with any other game I've ever played. Microsoft = garbage company. Gonna play DCS instead

Visuals are great, decent catalog of planes to fly without paying lots of money. Obviously nice to fly anywhere. This game is really fun (on an expensive PC), when it works. The issue is there are so many bugs and crashes it is unbelievable. I kid you not, I have close to 300 hours on this game, but I probably have just as many if not more hours waiting for the game to reload, re-download, crash and restart etc. Plus, every time I get a ways into my achievements, pilot training etc. then have to restart the game, I lose ALL the progress and there is no way to get it back. I can't tell you how many times I've restarted and done the beginner lessons just because I can't stand to not see those checked off in my achievements. Microsoft please hire some actual competent workers to fix these bugs You would have a good game. I've heard 2024 version is even worse. :(

Amazing game in general, and is SOOO much better than 2024, a few reasons why 1) The games graphic are so much better when it comes to buildings, as in 2024, it looks like a 3 year old was asked to draw the mona lisa and had crayons to do it 2) The community folder actually works 🤯🤯🤯(and for newbies who don't know what that is, it's like custom liveries and stuff) 3) The physics and just 👌😘 chefs kiss. On 2024 it's like flying in something like TFS! 4) Actually good wind, as once again, in 2024 at like 5kts of wind your crabbing like crazy. Overall the game is about 10x better than 2024 and yea, DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON 2024 AT THIS TIME, YOU WILL REGRET IT! Fortunately for me I have XGPU, so I get 2024 free. But had to get steam version of 2020 so that I could use steam vr on it. Yippeeee! My rotten tomatoes rating: 5/5 ⭐

so many problems just getting this game to launch....sooooo frustrating

The game is great, unfortunately it's impossible to download it at this point. I've left my computer run for multiple days with a good internet connection, but microsoft delivery network is so bad that I barely get 1Kbps. Cannot recommend a game that is impossible to even download.

The mandatory update is impossible to download. I was on the download for 7 hours and only had 30% downloaded. I uninstalled the game, not worth the time for this update !

It's a flight simulator and it's also the only one I have experience with so as far as I am concerned it's totally good. If it is outstanding or bad I have no idea because I don't have any point of reference. Whatever. It's a simulator, either the idea of flying excites you or it doesn't. There is always euro truck and snow/mudrunner if you want transportation sims. I think there are a few rival flight simulators. I think you should crank the graphics and go through the grand canyon in a helicopter. The weather is live. It's kind of a world simulator. I fly with a hotas which is pretty good but having a yoke would rule. FYI do not buy a hotas unless you REALLY like elite, and maybe x4, there are very few hotas games. Hotas is good with this though. EDIT: This is not a very high quality review. I had gum surgery this week and I am on drugs and I don't remember writing this.
