Scratches the itch Star Fox left behind

It's good, even early access. It's a remake + plus. Not only does it accurately recreate the feeling of playing Star Fox, it brings a little more to the table in terms of level and enemy design. So far, it does not seem to try to shoehorn in any modern gameplay elements into a classic formula, it just seems to offer always a bit of spice to that formula, elevating it in some ways. It's literally just Star Fox with extra Star Fox-y stuff put in.

I do not know where to begin with this game. It's OBVIOUSLY not finished yet, but TIS A GEM STILL TRULY! Like this game off the top of my head is my go to example as to WHY a piece of art can be a masterpiece BEFORE IT IS EVEN FINISHED! How would I describe Ex-Zodiac to a friend if I was forced to on the spot? Okay here goes... it's like if Star Fox from the SNES was written and developed by an underpaid team of bisexual girls who MAY or MAY NOT be brave enough to say "INTERSEX/TRANS/FUTA RIGHTS" or something? I DON'T KNOW but that's the kind of ENERGY this game has. Pixeljam is a fun publisher, and MNKY is a cute Dev Team or Developer and I have spent my money VERY WELL on this COMPLETELY UNDERRATED GEM. Like if your precious memories of the SNES STAR Fox seemed just a little too ASEXUAL GAY BOY SHONEN and instead you wanted your SNES STAR FOX to be more DYSTOPIAN SHOJO/SEINEN than THIS GAME IS EFFING PERFECT FOR YOU! Frankly I must be a BIT too old for this game to hit the absolute perfect sweet spot for my eyes, because OW this game definitely makes me wish I remembered how I EVER endured the SNES Star Foxes strain on my eyes as a kid BECAUSE THIS GAME DEFINITELY GIVES ME A NEW APPRECIATION FOR STAR FOX 64'S GRAPHICS, but it doesn't matter. I wish anyone, and everyone working on this game success and fame and fortune because they deserve it.

I feel so bad for letting this game collect dust in my steam library. Don't be like me! This is an absolute gem that wears its Star Fox inspiration porudly on its sleeve while improving many of the systems and telling a very fun soft sci-fi story. With faithful graphics that always feel accurate to the SNES starfox era even when they do things that the console cpuld never achieve, snappy controls, a good deal of variety, and all-time great music, this is absolutely not one to miss.

Love the music, love the look, love the gameplay and it's definitely still a bit of a challenge. As an OG Star Fox fan you have to play this. I only have a few suggestions: 1. the maps could be parted out into campaigns (I'm sure that's being considered once the levels are all done), 2. the chatter text can be slower so I could read it.
