Thrillgate is a great old-fashioned adventure, the kind of game you want to play if you wanna feel that eighties Lucasarts' vibe. Best points : the atmosphere, the creativity of the storyline and the puzzles, they way the cultural references of that decade are re-interpreted in a personal and ludic way. Pretty amazing when you realize that is the work of a single person. Highly recommended !

A combination of the original blurb, lovely artwork & it being promoted as a 3rd person point & click graphic adventure is what tempted me to buy this game. I wasn't disappointed as I found the game to be very addictive & I loved the challenging difficulty level. The game presents a variety of interesting problems in each of it's four parts, including in one being able to switch between characters. In places there was no apparent reason other than curiosity to perform an action e.g. to get into a locked room - the motivation to do so would have helped with the flow of the story. Otherwise progress was achieved by exploration & mainly inventory type puzzles although a 4th wall solution to a music puzzle was needed as there was no apparent clue within the game (or perhaps I just didn't find it). I particularly enjoyed discovering a novel idea I hadn't encountered before in order to manipulate time & the same section of the game incorporated some other interesting ideas also. There's no voice-acting in the game, no problem but the downside is that the English translation is pretty bad in places but even worse is that you generally can't fast-track through the text for dialogues & descriptions which for me slowed the pace. Another downside is the inclusion of a maze - boring! Overall the game lacks a little polish but the idea & game-play is interesting enough to recommend. It's got a nice semblance as far as the story goes but for me it needs more work to present more sense & depth. Despite everything the game was well worth spending time on!

Tough puzzles, but fun game, maze is boring, but doable. Could use better English translation. Author might consider extending into other languages, also. I was pleased to make it through without help.

I Have changed my review from negative to positive, just because i think the game creator deserves alot of credit for making this himself. Old review below which i will edit and change once the creator updates the game. Thrillgate? more like Dullgate, i appreciate the effort by the 1 man team to make an adventure game, but i`ve given up playing this game. You cannot click thru dialogue which makes it very tedious; and then even if u accidentally click something you have said already you have to watch the whole dialogue process again wihout being able to skip past it. There is a point at the near the end of the 1st chapter where your character wont let u jump over a section of sewer, he says something like,, i cant go i am forgetting to do something, turns out you have to look at an unlocked achievement from the inventory bar, after that he is happy to jump the water?? i did not enjoy being blocked just for that. Very frustrating. Perhaps the game gets better but after i got past the 1st chapter, and into the spaceship, then i lost interest & the motivation to continue the playing game. If the author fixes the ability to skip dialogue to speed things up, i may be persuaded to play again.

Paid almost 10 euros for it. Was it worth that? NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Let's see: The interface is clunky as heck, some of the dialogue lines can be skipped, some not, and they either change too fast or too slowly. Grammar is horrible, sound design is crappy, the game does not save settings, it's defaulted to Italian language and you have to change it to English EVERY time you start the game, there's no voice acting, and the background animations are very, very bad; flying butterflies are executed with 3 frames. For a free game, it would have been just a tedious experience, but paying almost 10 euros from it, I feel straight-out robbed!
