Hooplord is an entertaining and challenging little VR game! You try to shoot hoops against a variety of golems who use increasingly non-regulation tactics to stop you from making the shot. I found the controls really responsive, I was able to make baskets reliably. My only complaint is the scratches in my ceiling from the jump-shots I kept trying to make!

Thought I would give it a try before the kids got to play. 40 min in and having fun. Well worth it. Kids will try tomorrow and hope to update then.

I've tried a few different basketball games in VR. None of them ever managed to entertain me - there's always effort lacking in the gameplay itself - and ultimately you end up messing about with sliders and the entire thing just becomes stupid.
That is not the case here. That concept isn't even in the same neighborhood. The key element here is honest-to-god fun - you simply cannot find it in any other basketball game / experience / emulator. And it's delivered via a genuinely novel idea with mechanics that are surprisingly unique, intuitive, and become second nature as you develop strategy to become the hooplord.
Now let me talk about basketball. The sole reason I got the game is because of the potential for getting hoops in VR that a controller cannot match. This is the same reason I bought the other basketball games. You want the gratification that comes with dropping a bucket after outplaying an opponent. You want to release the shot and know it's good immediately, or even better - release and know the shot is borderline. You want to drop a shot right in the eyes of a defender. This game gives you the opportunity to do that, and by my estimation - it is the only game in town for that. And best of all - there's absolutely no messing about with sliders trying to dial it in. You have to learn to develop the shooting stroke without a give-me. The reward of dropping the threeball is real.
I am very excited for the future of sports in VR.

I actually really liked the game, it was well worth $6. An hour and a half of fun, challenges, and fun graphics made for an awesome experience.
