A surprisingly deep mix of strategy, survival, and tough moral choices. Every decision you make as a ruler carries real weight—one wrong move, and your kingdom crumbles beneath you. The medieval art style and atmospheric music pull you into its grim world, making each playthrough feel unique. While the UI can be a bit clunky at times, the satisfying challenge of managing your people, resources, and enemies keeps me coming back for more. If you enjoy strategy games where every choice matters, this one’s worth a try.

Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown stands out with its blend of city-building and RTS combat, but what I’ve enjoyed most is the multiplayer aspect. Managing an economy, expanding territories, and making tough moral choices feel even more engaging when playing with others. Whether cooperating to build a thriving kingdom or competing for dominance, multiplayer adds a dynamic layer that keeps every session fresh. Balancing resource management, diplomacy, and warfare alongside friends makes for a compelling experience, and there’s always something to strategize, trade, or conquer together.

Game masterfully combines city-building with real-time strategy, set in the rich world of Nysamor. Your decisions shape your kingdom's fate, balancing benevolence and tyranny. The game offers engaging single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, allowing up to four players to build, explore, and battle together. The dynamic world, influenced by your choices, keeps the gameplay fresh and immersive. For strategy enthusiasts seeking meaningful decision-making and complex mechanics, this game is a must-play.

Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown is an impressive game that successfully blends deep strategy and city building mechanics. With resource management, expansion, and challenging moral choices, every decision has a real impact on your kingdom. It's really good to have both online and offline modes, as the game's dynamic world allows you to constantly develop new strategies. Even though it's in early access, it's a beautiful and smooth game. If you like city building and strategy you should definitely give it a try.

Alright, so I picked this game up because I love city-builders, and let me tell you—it’s actually pretty solid. You’re not just building a city; you’re shaping a kingdom, making tough moral decisions, and dealing with all the chaos that comes with ruling. It’s like Banished meets a strategy RPG, and I’m here for it.
The game lets you go solo or play with friends (up to 4 players), and that’s honestly where it shines. Making choices together—whether to be a benevolent ruler or a ruthless tyrant—adds a fun layer of chaos. Plus, the world feels alive. You can expand, explore, and interact with other AI-controlled villages and kingdoms, which keeps things interesting.
Since it’s Early Access, there are still some rough edges, but the devs have been killing it with updates. They actually listen to the community, which is rare these days. The latest update added some cool new systems like Influence and decorative buildings, and they’re ahead of schedule, which is wild.
Overall, if you’re into city-building with a mix of strategy and decision-making, this is 100% worth checking out. Can’t wait to see where it goes from here!

It's still early access, consider this when you give it a try, but so far I have genuinely enjoyed Thrive.
There is a lot to do when it comes to creating your settlement, and I see how some people thought the initial phase of the game was too "in your face" but I actually really enjoyed the tutorials. The game guides you and eases you into proper management of your city, which I thought was very helpful. I play a lot of city builders, and have had the opposite problem of "no proper guidance don't know how to manage" with other games, so this actually felt very good in Thrive.
I experienced some minor bugs, but so far nothing game breaking. I always go in early access with acceptance of this though.
I am looking forward to exploring a bit more, and I definitely recommend it especially with the discount running at the moment.

Thrive: Heavy Lies The Crown offers a deep and engaging city-building experience where every decision, from resource management to how you rule your people, feels impactful. The RTS combat is solid, and the technology tree provides strategic variety. However, micromanagement can quickly become overwhelming, and the tutorials leave some mechanics unclear. The game’s current in early access state. The game shows a lot of promise for fans of complex strategy games, though it's still a bit of a challenge to navigate.
Would 100% recommend.

If you're looking for a multiplayer game like Manor Lords, this one is a solid choice. The UI can feel overwhelming at first, and learning the mechanics takes a few hours. If you enjoy strategy and city-building, it’s worth the effort.
Since it's in early access, expect some bugs—but the devs are clearly committed to improving it. The price might seem high, but once you're past the refund window, you'll see its potential. Give it a shot and decide for yourself!

The game keeps breaking. It goes from my Inventory not going up, the story stops working, military units stop moving, Caravans getting stuck in towns, materials showing on the map that's not even visible to gather. Enemy siege units being immune to dmg from all spear units unless hit with a different unit. not being able to train more soldiers, and have to rely on milita contracts. It's happened twice, where if I leave the game I lose the save. I'm loving the game, but I can't keep losing progress and restarting back over. I'm over it.
