Oh dear it was terrible. Ive done house flippers 1 and 2, hotel reno was great too. This was not. You start building a bunker and there is next to nothing of a tutorial. Nothing works like it should. Moving this huge long metal arch into a green dumpster wasnt fun either. It kept shaking and shaking so i had to sit there and wait for the graphics to stop shaking so i could try and move it again. Good grief it was not fun. I ordered some wood and he didnt even bring it in all the way. He stops and you cannot go to either side as their is stuff in the way. Im literally talking to the guy in the truck and ofc he cant hear me lol...I had to hop on this and that just to get the one plank. then he left. i mean really. and I just dont get how this has positive reviews. Its all over the place and nothing is fun. Ill go back to house flipper . Begged for a refund. I even bought the dlc so positive I was this would be good. watch players on utube first. This was not fun imo.

House Builder is a refreshing take on the house-building genre, delivering a fun and relaxing experience with just the right amount of challenge to keep you engaged. If you’ve enjoyed games like House Flipper, you’ll likely find House Builder to be a familiar yet unique twist on the genre.
What sets this game apart is its emphasis on creating your own building materials. This added layer of gameplay provides a satisfying sense of accomplishment as you grind through the process of crafting and constructing. It’s the kind of gameplay that’s both rewarding and relaxing, striking a great balance between effort and payoff.
However, not everything is perfect. The navigation can feel clunky and unintuitive at times, which detracts from the overall experience. Additionally, the abundance of DLCs and extra packages you have to purchase alongside the base game can be frustrating. While the core game is enjoyable, these added costs might feel off-putting to some players.
Despite these drawbacks, House Builder is a solid recommendation for fans of building games. Its unique mechanics, relaxing atmosphere, and rewarding gameplay make it a standout in the genre. If you’re willing to overlook the navigation issues and additional costs, you’ll find a lot to love in this creative and engaging title.

It's a great feeling when the game doesn't try to be too hard when it doesn't need to be. The QoL is perfectly balanced. Screw 5 bolts and you'll advance instantly. No need to suffer with leveling up 10,000,000 bolts to increase your speed by 1%, I really appreciate that! Then step by step, from basic to advanced, great!
It's funny to say, but farming (I mean collecting straw) seems more enjoyable to me than in the FS series, I mean the mechanics themselves and the simple QoL, again.
Thank you for a really good game that I can enjoy and relax <3

I feel bad saying I can't recommend so early into the game play, but I wasn't even able to finish the tutorial house, the mud house.
First off, the standard key bindings are unintuitive. But that can be changed. Fine.
There is at one point when building the frame of the house that it tells you to cut down small palm trees for palm logs. The physics on these trees are absolutely bizarre. While they stay still when chopping them down, it is once you try to cut the felled tree into logs that everything falls apart. Each hit causes the tree to go flying, spinning off in this direction or that. Sometimes even clipping through the ground. Some fly high in the air and get stuck high out of reach. This happened to EVERY. SINGLE. TREE. Eventually I lost so many trees that I didn't even have enough logs to finish the house frame, and no more trees to cut, making finishing the level impossible.
I wish I could explore this game more, but this experience is frustrating, and always happens for me, so for now, I will put this game aside and lament all the potential it had.

initially a great game, however the lack of free houses and inability to keep playing unless you purchase expansion packs is a stupid concept. Wont keep long term lovers of the game this way, once you complete all the free houses theres nothing to do.
