Genuinely a great and heart warming story! I finished it in one sitting because the story and characters just endeared themselves to me incredibly fast. This however is also the weak point of this game. It is VERY short. I will play it twice, and unless you look up a guide or have perfect mindset to get the best ending on the first try, you may do two as well. This game is incredibly well made though, so it is worth every penny. If you have the money to spend it on a few VERY good hours, this is absolutely worth it. If you don't, just buy it on sale! It's one of the best walking simulators I've played, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Also very gay. 10/10, would let the game call me a sexual deviant again :)
There's a lot to like in this game but unfortunately in +/- world I have to not recommend this game. The game hangs it enjoyment on its story. There were moments I was genuinely hooked but ultimately when the game mechanics became revealed it the experience ultimately felt very shallow. I wish we had a 5 star or a 1-10 rating system because this game does a lot of things very right. It's just unfortunate that the core gameplay and much of the story is not nearly as clever or involved as it could be. A great experience that is never truly had.

Oh my goooood. I immediately want to replay and do a few things differently. This game was really fun, the right amount of challenging, and had a great, engaging story. I know people are seeing the LGBT tag and thinking they might have to play as an LGBT character, but you don't make many decisions regarding your personal life and it looks like you can avoid situations that would portray you as a lesbian/bisexual woman. I don't want to give anything away. I think anyone can enjoy this game. It is so fun. But, I did not expect so many lesbian easter eggs in this game. The whole thing silently, secretly screams The Price of Salt from the moments the manager accidentally calls you Miss Belivet (your name is Miss Roy) to the vaguely similar soundtrack of Carol. Parts of the storyline made me tear up, it really hit home for me. I feel nervous giving it a raving gay review, because like...I know it's possibly going to dissuade someone from playing it, which sucks. But, here's how I'll sum it up. If you're straight, you're not going to notice how gay it is lol. It probably won't seem gay at all. If you're sapphic, you're going to love this shit.
A Gem Created with Limited Resources
Lowbirth Games Studio has delivered a finely crafted noir-style game despite working with limited manpower and budget. I lost count of how many times I was surprised by the small details in the game—like the veins on Sophie's skin model or the well-thought-out investigation choices. Even though the game only has three major locations, they’re cleverly blended into the game’s flow, making it hard to notice the limited scope. This contrast became especially clear to me after finishing Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, a game developed by Microids Studio Lyon, which clearly has more experience and funding than Lowbirth Games Studio.

Atmosphere and Presentation
The atmosphere is exceptionally well-executed, and the use of camera work significantly enhances the tone and immersion.

Sound and Music
I'm not well-versed in music, so I won't say too much about it—only that it fits the game perfectly and never feels out of place.

Gameplay
When it comes to gameplay, perhaps it’s just my “Flash game brain” kicking in, but the cleaning mini-games are surprisingly addictive. The core puzzles hit a sweet spot: interesting without being overly complicated, and they also deepen your understanding of the story.

Story and Narrative
As for the narrative, it feels like reading a mid-20th-century detective novel or watching a noir film. I won’t go into detail to avoid spoilers, but if you’ve ever enjoyed a mystery from that era, this game won’t disappoint you. This is a choice-driven game, and that’s the part that truly blew me away. Usually, in this kind of game, only a few choices actually matter—but here, many of them lead to noticeable differences. Not every choice changes the story, but the number that does is impressive. This might be the advantage of a small-scale game: making significant narrative shifts within a limited framework allows for more effective resource management.

Characters and Dialogue
The dialogue choices feel like things real people would actually say—natural and never jarring. Each character has a strong, distinct personality. There’s no sense of stereotypes or filler characters. For a relatively short game, it’s remarkable how memorable each character is.

Voice Acting
This speaks not just to the writing but also to the excellent voice acting. While I wouldn’t say it's TGA-level, for a small-budget noir game, the performances are honestly outstanding.

LGBTQ+ Themes
Lastly, this game includes LGBTQ+ themes. I know some people feel wary when they see LGBTQ+ content, but this game isn’t preachy at all. Instead, it weaves these themes into the story in a natural and respectful way. You experience the challenges and historical tragedies faced by LGBTQ+ people, but it never feels forced or out of place.

Flaws
That said, the game isn't without flaws. Minor clipping or stiff facial animations happen occasionally, but I don't consider those real issues—after all, Lowbirth Games is an indie studio. Given the care and passion they clearly poured into this game, I firmly believe that with more funding and staff, these things wouldn’t be present. To me, there are only three notable flaws: 1. In the ending, when Sophie steps out of the elevator and talks to her acolyte, the conversation feels oddly calm considering the intensity of what just happened. Chatting about their past experiences felt out of place in a moment where there’s still a murderer on the loose in the hotel and a snowstorm raging outside. How are they this relaxed? 2. Not all dialogue and cutscenes are skippable, which made collecting all achievements more time-consuming than necessary. 3. Many players feel that the price is too high for the game’s length. I can understand that sentiment, but for me, it was worth it. Lowbirth Games Studio is clearly a team that puts their heart into what they do. Even at full price, I felt good supporting an indie developer that genuinely cares about their craft.

Conclusion
If you’re unsure whether it’s worth buying, feel free to read other reviews or check out a walkthrough—but avoid watching the ending! For a mystery story, spoilers kill the experience. And even if you’re not particularly into game development, this game will eventually go on sale—and when it does, it’s absolutely worth picking up. To wrap things up, I truly admire how much love and attention Lowbirth Games Studio put into this project, and I’m already looking forward to whatever they create next. If you’re someone who enjoys supporting passionate, heartfelt work from small studios, this game is absolutely worth your time.
Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express

I've already recommended this game to a bunch of friends who like crime mysteries, working the clues to get answers, connect the dots etc. One run takes around 6h, but I feel like the game has decent replay value in case you didn't like your ending.

this was a really cool game! i honestly feel like there could be chapters or different storylines branching out from this as it felt a little short, but the gameplay was great and the puzzles were fun. there is a very tiny amount of replayability by being able to choose your partner in crime/love interest each time, but other than that, super linear. love a good noir though! felt like a modern day Nancy Drew, would recommend! (at a slightly discounted price)

Im sorry but for the amount of money you pay, the game feels way way too short. Where is rest of it? You just do one case and its all over? I thought there would be much more to the game but sadly to my disappointment there wasnt much.

There's an LGBTQ+ tag on the game page but in case you have the reading comprehension of a Trump supporter, that means GAY PEOPLE EXIST AND ARE DOING GAY THINGS SOMETIMES. It also means the game deals with issues affecting the queer community. If that's too hard for you to process, maybe go play Call of Duty or some shit. The lil homphobic crybabies in the community discussions made me even more keen to pick this game up than I already was so thanks for selling it even harder <3 To the actual game: the story is well written, thoughtful, and a solid look at where we came from. I loved the characters, especially Beth, and the art style was gorgeous. The setting was beautiful to look at and I loved diving in and solving all the little puzzles. There were a few things I missed so I'm keen to start a second play through to see if I can get the remaining pieces and achievements. The game is fully voice acted and none of it is super over the top. Very well done! I know some folks have had glitches and bugs with various things but I completed my playthrough with no issues at all. The folks bitching about historical accuracy or the fact that there were too many queer people in one place seem to miss the fact that queer people DO tend to seek each other out and this has always been the way. Places seen as safe for the community become little hubs. Anyways, if you know enough basic grammar to understand "woke" isn't a pejorative, this is a well executed mystery with many secrets to uncover. Average playthrough length is about 4.5hrs but it took me 5.5. I thought I was being thorough but I still missed a bunch of things so imo there's replayability even if you think you know everything. I genuinely enjoyed my time playing it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys narrative games and can approach queer content without behaving like a rabid animal.

The game is rather short for 30 dollars CAD. Honestly it felt like I played chapter 1 of what should have been a longer story. I did honestly enjoy the story it wasn't too bad, but I don't think its worth 30 dollars with the lack of content. Story games in particular this one felt like rushed to the climax and ended so abruptly. It felt more like a short story.. While the graphics are nice and the setting is captivating it lacks too much in what really matters. I wouldn't buy it at full price, I would buy it at half the price.
