Yukari is so sexy, and I want to hug Flandre Scarlet, she's so cute and safe..... I guess.

I thought this would be like a metroidvania, IT'S NOT. This is a missions/levels based game where you go into a somewhat linear level and beat a tough boss at the end. The only metroidvania there is to the game are the visuals and some of the combat, outside of that it's not really a metroidvania. If you are like me and like metroidvanias where you get to explore, unlock abilities that let you get to areas you couldn't previously, this is not it. Many reviewers here compare this to a metroidvania which is why I bought it, guess people don't know what makes a metroidvania sigh. The combat and jumping can feel pretty floaty as well and the boss fights are super tough.

🍜 A great sequel to the legendary «Touhouvania», but this one is a bit of a mixed bag. It has flaws that were fixed in the first, as well as some minor non-gameplay bugs. ABSOLUTE overprice for an old 2010 indie game, only for the biggest fans. Would love to see a threequel, but given the long wait for a re-release of these (and the rare patches), it's unlikely to happen. However, it's still a game with a stunningly great soundtrack and superb character designs. It's a little longer and has slightly different gameplay elements. This is another simply enjoyable "Classicvania", but with the 2hu bullet hell on the bosses. Definitely worth attention.

Summary:
- The game itself, which was released in 2010, is really good. The voicework is masterful with famous VAs, the art is incredible, but I highly suggest getting it on sale because you can beat it in about 3 hours.
- You can play as Reimu from the first game after clearing the final stage, but it felt like the devs didn't polish her enough (Lack of damage from most partner skills, no save points from playing from Stage 1, no voices from Steam's Scarlet Symphony, etc)
- There is a Boss Rush, but it doesn't save your score
This game is extremely nostalgic and enjoyable, but the new Steam Version with broken new features doesn't justify the full price. Again, wait for a sale!
EDIT: Steam Achievemets work now after a very long period of time, thank you devs! The review still stands for the Reimu Mode + Boss Rush, so if there was a 'mixed' review, this would be it.
