pretty good sokpop experience with decent cave-diving atmosphere that can be quite challenging too (especially the getting-out part). Sound-design and aesthetics are really nice and the procedural generation of the caves really adds to the replay value.

Cool game, until you find all the kids, then it's a GREAT game!

this feels like a freshman game dev classes first game without any playtesting or bug fixing. Very awkward to use just about every item and it just feels like a chore to play. I would stay away from this sok

As a DRG Scout main, playing this game feels like experiencing every medieval torture type at the same time. Placing items is nonsense. Determining what fall distance will cause damage is nonsense. Everything about movement is nonsense. I got to the bottom on my first try and have no desire to get back up. Don't buy this.

This is a pretty good game for Sokpop standards. It won't take you long to complete it once, but the caves are randomly generated so you can get a bit of replay value out of it. It's a pretty simple cave exploration game. Also, as a rarity from Sokpop, this is a game with all of it's achievements working for once.

Not my typical game, but was was fun to play. It takes both RNG and skill to finish a run or not. You will also need multiple runs for the achievements, including a good or bad ending. You do need to play with sound on though, or at least it will make it easier as the kids cry (?) and the goblet emits a spooky noise.

Can't walk at a reasonable speed. Just able to inch away at snails pace. Not sure if its the game or my system but I have the minimum systems requirements. Would be enjoyable if I can just walk normally.

The game is a lot of fun and really gives you a feeling of exploration and wonder. However, you can't save the game and that's a huge turn off for me. It's easy to jump in for a bit just to have fun but if you want to complete the game you need to do it all in one sitting. If that doesn't seem like a problem for you then I wholeheartedly recommend the game at the full price.
When I played Minecraft, I often wished that exploring caves was its own game. Now it is!
I feel like Goblet Cave's biggest strengths are all of the things it doesn't have. There are good spelunking experiences in videogames, but almost all of them have other stuff going on: combat, cutscenes, hunger mechanics, the list goes on. In Goblet Cave, you are exploring a cave. You use stuff like ladders and ropes to make moving through the cave easier. That's it. And yet, it doesn't lose any of the ambiance or subtle nervousness that comes from exploring dark, vast places. Goblet Cave is a surprisingly suspenseful, compelling game. Not a flawless game, mind you - the way terrain blocks you from climbing down ropes is irritating, and ladders gave me trouble several times, but I learned to work with the quirks pretty quickly. For $3 full price, this is quite a bargain. Highly recommended.
