I've played a decent number of games now. I began a playoff mode to test out all the different teams. Unfortunately, every single game has become a waste of time. The CPU will score once, or maybe twice (usually a field goal) and then just sit on the ball and drain the clock in the first half...I do not mind this strategy overall, however when I am attempting to PLAY THE GAME, its frustrating when the CPU just takes the ball and holds it, running the clock down for the entire 4 or 5 minute quarters. I WANT TO PLAY. I don't care if the score is 42-0 and I loose. I would rather that then play games where no one scores more than 14 or 17 points and yet I still sit and watch the CPU hold the ball and drain the clock and waste my half hour of gaming time. I really want to like this game and keep playing, perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I am upset that I gave this game so much of a try that I probably wont be able to get a refund - Im scared to play Legend Bowl because I dont want the same experience. EDIT: While this game is very frustrating, I have now decided that my take on it is because of my casual approach to a game with more complexities than are really given in the details of the tutorial. HOWEVER, the creator has a decent amount of "academy" videos on youtube which are actually a labor of love for this game and helped me to approach it with a more devout learning desire. I would reccomend this game BUT ONLY if you are willing to put in some extra time to find the hidden skills.

Sports games are about the controls and this games controls suck. End of story. Not worth a $1.

Involuted, unintuitive controls and loading times are laughably long for a 600MB game

Unexpected good arcade game. I was looking for a causal football game to replace the madden itch.

Best American football game I have ever played. Wonderfully easy to mod rosters and team colours/logos. It is a delight to play whether you control the teams or just sim the games. It's also possible to take the season's players and import them as the draft players for the earlier Legend Bowl game from the same developer which is just as amazing. Great community on the official discord. Yes there are a couple of lingering bugs/glitches but the overall quality of this game makes it worth it. I could not recommend this more to anyone who is searching for a game that delivers where Madden fails.

I love EVERYTHING about this game except that I keep getting a Code Error in my Dynasty mode at the end of the 9th game of the season. Because it does not record the game as having been played, it makes me have to replay the game. This has happened three times now.

I love the idea of bringing back retro-style football games, and this game nails the nostalgic vibe. Yes, there are some bugs, but considering it’s developed by a single dev and a small team, it’s understandable. Patience will pay off as the game continues to improve. That said, I did encounter a situation where I threw the ball backward, which should’ve been ruled a fumble, but it was instead called an incomplete pass. Another challenge is with wide receivers running deep routes. While you can see the play art before the snap, it’s tough to track who’s open during the play—especially if the QB drops back or the WRs run so fast that they disappear off-screen. It would be great to have a way to better visualize deeper routes in real time. Overall, the game has a lot of charm and potential, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here!

Pretty good football game. As someone who knows football pretty well, I feel like this games does a good job of not dumbing down the playbook for you. I play with "all plays" on. There are 51 offensive formations, from empty (only 1 empty set formation) to WING-T to pistol to shotgun formations to heavy sets (with 6 linemen). I feel like I still haven't figured out the passing yet (I turned down the difficulty from the normal setting, which punishes you really really hard for holding the button a bit too long). Running behind your blockers feels great in this game... but really only running to the outside. Running between the tackles is not really possible. The offensive line doesn't really get much push and the physics engine basically says "player in the way, you can't go forward" then a D linemen sheds a block and you lose 2 yards. Defensive feels pretty good, and at the higher difficulties I feel like the cpu AI took advantage of me in ways that a smart coach would (throw past my blitzer, waits for longer play to develop). You HAVE TO PRESS a button to make a tackle, which honestly I don't really like. On the switch controller, it feels very unnatural but on an xbox controller it's probably fine (Switch you have to press the bottom then top button, and if you snag the left button you will jump up and are guarateed to miss the tackle). Kicking is super difficult for the same reason throwing is: overpress by a couple milliseconds and you are guaranteed to miss. The power bar is also not linear so you really have to thread the needle: 50% power the ball goes 10 yards, 100% power the ball goes 50+ yards. I changed this setting to make it easier. There are some cool things about the game. You can run triple option from flexbone/Wing T! I did return a punt for a touchdown once, which is an appropriate rarity given my 20ish hours of play. Penalties are not really a thing (I have gone offsides a couple times but there is no holding). There are sliders to fine adjust your and the CPU's abilities like shedding blocks and throwing. I haven't gotten into those yet. There are a couple things I sorely miss from the old really great madden games. You can only motion on plays where motion is shown in the playcard. Your audibles are static per formation (4 options per formation) and I don't think you can change them. You also can't have different player packages for a given formation. The dynasty mode is pretty cool, and I have actually started to like recruiting then simming my season to see how the boys do. One thing that is a HUGE problem in recruiting is that left trigger is "auto recruit" without any confirmation. So if you've got your whiteboard out and you're 40 minutes into recruiting the perfect class but then put your controller down on the cushing and it accidentally triggers the auto recruit... guess what, the AI just used all your scholarships on absolute cans so you have to restart. I think I'm literally going to unmap the left trigger on my Steamdeck when I recruit because it's happened twice to me, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice. I did have an issue with the tutorial: It would not let me throw a pass. I almost returned the game right then and there. I've gone back to the turorial and it allowed me to do everything, so I don't really know what went on there. All in all, a fun college football game with more depth than the art style suggests. I think it's made by a single dev which is pretty impressive. I give it a 8/10.

Crashege Bowl It's fun to play, but it's got some serious unaddressed bugs that need fixed before the game can be considered fully functional. When you play all the way through a season and the game constantly crashes following the conference championship, you get the feeling that you've wasted a great deal of both time and money for a product that craps out right just before you reach the end.
