Update! After tending to some personal life stuff, the Dev has returned with a large patch that cleans up a lot of the graphics and added quite a few things. I'm really happy to change my review to a positive one. Combat is working fine and now I just need to play through the story to see what it's all about. It looks pretty good so far. Fingers crossed that I don't get too scared! ****** Original Review: This was a neat little indie game that was seeing regular development which suddenly halted in the middle of June. I tried reaching out to the Dev a few times, but they are unresponsive. The game was marked as released before it was really finished and now it feels incomplete. When I was testing it out in early access, I was able to get through to the second chapter consistently. Then when it was patched and 'released' many things were broken. Combat doesn't work correctly anymore. The monsters completely ignore the bullets and kill me outside the church every time now. It doesn't matter if I shoot them from near or far. Everything is way too dark now and the flashlight doesn't collect batteries correctly. The second chapter cannot be completed at all if I'm lucky enough to brute force my way through all the bugs in the first chapter.

Very disappointed its too dark to see anything i may as well be blind only managed to find a locked door, a letter and a map. Why do they have to make these games so dark then not give the option of brightness.

So here we go last night there where no reviews on this game now there's 11 kool. Took me ages to find the key for the warehouse but managed to find it the English translation was a little off but whatever. Overall finished the first chapter and it was an ok game and very cheap so not going to go in on it as much. I will play chapter 2 on my next vidoe but here is my gameplay if you wanna check it out. https://youtu.be/ehwiB5GC_IU

Although the game is simple in its looks and game play it is very enjoyable nether the less and i am excited for more content for the game to drop with the cliffhanger at the end of the first chapter intriguing me on what is to come well done :) I'd also like to add that i was spooked a couple times which i was not expecting.

It has some bugs but it's understandable considering it's still in early access. Some features can be improved. There are some nice jumpsacares. In overall it's a nice game. I give it 5/7.

So I just played Somewhere....As a avid horror game player/streamer...I do not feel that even a 4 year old would be afraid. I had to restart this game 3 times in order for the chapter progression to work correctly. The graphics were good, but the cheesy "monster" deaths scenes were not....they just looked like they fainted after being I would only assume to be shot. The A.I. Needs to be worked on a bit...The monsters cannot walk around chairs, through doorways, or even onto a walkway. So I will say this...the only good thing was that some of the scenes were ok...some of them...The child alien helium voice was nice touch, .the Microsoft Sam voice needs to go...and have a real voice actor. The monster in the church that ran past was a nice touch, but the body de-materializing was not...it was chintzy. In ending...buyer beware....you get what you paid for, do not go into this thinking it will be a well made game.

So I really wanted to be able to recommend this game but I just can't. I experienced way to many bugs in the game for this to really be playable. It's only a dollar so it's not a bad price to pay but imo it's just a waste of a dollar. I played through the first chapter and just didn't want to play anymore. I ran into 4 bugs in the game that literally made it so I couldn't progress any further without resetting from the previous checkpoint. No actual issue with what I did, the game just didn't register a part of it. The enemies are in no way scary. They could've done a little more to make them a little more frightening but they seem just boring. There's really no damage consistency to the game either. Sometimes it'll take 4 shots to kill an enemy, sometimes it'll take 7. All shots were fired to the head of the target and showed the animation of them flinching so I'm guessing I hit them? But at the same time there's really no way of knowing. There was ONE jump scare that really just seemed like it was thrown in there for no reason. Doesn't seem like the scare actually had anything to do with a monster or character in the game. It's literally just... there. I think the game could've been decent if there was a little more effort put into the gun play and enemies. The bug fixes shouldn't need to be brought up but the game is actually terrible because of how buggy it is. I would say if they come out with an update to at least fix the bugs preventing progression I would be willing to give it another shot.

I feel obligated to say I would recommend this because I did get scared, but the scares were just loud noises. I was really thinking of things to say about this game(good or bad) so here is my too detailed review: The game is CRAZY dark, the first couple of minutes before I got the flashlight I had to increase the brightness on the video. The description was correct as in there aren't any jump scares OR any pictures that show up in your face with a scream. (left click shoots the gun BUT also left Ctrl shoots the gun which scared me......twice) This won't be a spoiler since you can see the monster in the photos above but once i killed him i walked near him and still took damage? Found a health bottle but could've lived without it. Its possible my monster was stuck but he didn't look like he was coming after me to hurt me. During the gameplay the music ended twice. On a positive note, I can't wait to play Chapter 2 :) The game also took me 0.7 hrs to finish, which is roughly 40 minutes. I'm 100% certain the game could've been beaten quicker.
