I'm sure the game would have been good if I hadn't had my account permanently banned before I ever played the game. Hard to imagine what I might have done wrong. Appealed but they weren't interested. Just beware that if you purchase any game from AE games you may never get to play it, even if you do absolutely nothing wrong. I assume mistaken identity or something but they wont tell me so I can only guess.

I was stoked to play this, heard great things . Could not launch this in VR at all (Steam Link and Quest 3S). Super frustrating but it's older now and not supported I guess.

The game won't launch at all. I have reinstalled it, changed the permission level (ran as administrator), reinstalled EAC, bypassed EAC, performed a clean boot, deleted the saved data for the game out of my documents folder, run the game with a variety of compatibility options, reinstalled and uninstalled the EA games app, changed my passwords for both steam and the EA games app (to try and get them to sync), added a file inside the launch folder with a numeric string, repaired EAC, crawled through the EA forums, closed every application on my computer other than steam (including the startup apps), checked my drivers, unplugged my peripherals, and of course, verifying the files through steam.
I was excited to play this game, but it won't launch at all.

Worth every penny of the list price for the campaign alone, and much more so when on sale. If you like Star Wars and have even a passing interest in air/space combat games, I highly recommend Squadrons

The game always prompts for two factor on start up. This isn't an issue except when booting into VR where it doesn't even allow you to select the box to input the code. Refunded because I wanted to try the VR.

Is it perfect? No.
Is it fun as hell? Yes.
It's a shame that it was competing with Battlefront 2.
Pick it up while it's on sale and enjoy the campaign. The online is a little dead.

In it's current state I cannot recommend Star Wars Squadrons to the masses. I had to jump through hoops just to get the game to even run for me. The game forced me to use onedrive which I swore I would never use again and then I had to disable HDR through documents(Replacing a 1 with a 0) This game suffers from a multitude of problems and you will waste hours looking for a fix that will work for your rig. All identity politics aside, the game when not crashing to desktop, is fun and the story mode is just long enough as not to get that tedious. I played it when it first came out on windows 10 and in VR without any problems at all. Once I updated my Rig I ran into all sorts of problems just starting the game up. The sad part is that most of the fixes don't work for every person so you have to search and use trial and error to find one that does. I would recommend gettting the game on sale if you can but be prepared to spend a few hours trying to get the game to work. Take care my gaming friends and please stay Gold!!!

great game IF you have a flight stick. Without one, you're gonna die a lot and give up like the majority of other players. There is too much going on and happening too fast to use a mouse/keyboard or standard controller.

Wait for a sale and then pick up this game, if you are a Star Wars fan (like this 50+ year old fan) as it is like a childhood dream to sit in the cockpits of the most iconic starfighters from the movies.
Just the single player story alone is worth it for me (again, if you get this game in a sale, not if you are paying full price). But if you have some friends and want to do some missions together, the option is still there.
The mission diversity in the single player campaign is great, and the story itself keeps you engaged, and I really like how it bounces between Rebel and Imperials to let you fly all the different vehicles.
I always say - make your own mind up about a game, and not listen to all the overly negative reviews.
