Great addition to this already bad ass game, Takes a little to get use to the healing and field resurrection but quite a OP character when used properly. I would recommend it.

The Healer is a rather interesting class that is quite distinct from the other characters; but ultimately feels a little weak. Astryd is a combat class - but really lacks the health and Might stat to tank tonnes of hits while being geared towards close range combat. She has decent Electronics, Computer, Biotech, and Medical which are all important skills to help maintain her health, food, and equipment; but she doesn't have anything in foraging capability (outside of Armor Lockers). She has good Finesse and Brains to help her out in those aspects - but she only gets 5 Skill Points to play around with per Level Up. Overall, none of this is really all that good for a Single Player game - there isn't some outstanding perk to really set her apart from her comrades. But this is a cooperative game so let's cover that. In Multiplayer, the main things of interest to note about the Medic is that the Armor she starts with 'can' be used to resurrect other players. On the spot. No Resurrection Object required. Her starting gun can also be used to heal her friends - at a cost of her health. These sound quite powerful (and they can be) but outside of that she doesn't really provide much in the way of perks to help out the group - even the Marine has his place as the pack mule and damage sponge for example. Now, I will note that part of the problem here might be simply regarding how skills work in the game. If one could use Med Packs or use Med Bays to heal their friends - Astryd would absolutely be justified in any party to take. But skills aren't really geared to helping friends - they are centered around the individual characters only. Of course, even if the above is addressed, the above ignores one glaring issue here - the price of this DLC. You only get access to the Medic with this DLC - which even bundled with the rest of the game might not be worth the price of just one character. Even if things are made more favorable to play this character, one might still consider this worth passing up if on a budget - the value simply isn't here for this DLC.
