It's simple and small but it's very thoughtful and it does a lot with simple mechanics like every good puzzle game. The complexity is more in thinking about thinking about the consequences of your swaps, far more than the mechanics themselves

Really great little puzzle game. I love/hate that feeling of "There are only like 4 possible moves and all of them set the house on fire! This is impossible!" followed by that awesome "Oh, wait a minute...". Or not. That uncertainty makes it so exciting

Review for people with visual impairment.
- No accessibility options
- Very low contrast
- Most of the screen is well not used, I am all for minimalistic look but this looks like it belongs on the mobile phone.
Can't really say much about the game, seams like a solid puzzler.
I refunded the game because there are no accessibility options.

Quick Description:
-Wildfire Swap is a minimalist tiled based puzzler that is far more challenging and fun than you would expect. It has a very simple art style, but one that works well w/ the game mechanics. The pacing is solid, and it will slowly throw more challenges at you. There are even B Side levels that really ramp up the challenge, and may even stump the most experienced puzzler fanatics.
What's Good:
-I love when a game takes a very simple mechanic and bases the entire game around it. The entire game revolves around the way fire spreads, and doing everything you can to keep your houses from catching on fire. This mechanic will evolve as the game introduces other mechanics such as wind, which ramps up the challenge and complexity in the later levels.
-This is such an easy game to play regardless of your background or gaming experience. You can play this entire game w/ just a mouse, and you don't need to have strong hand-eye-coordination in order to excel at this game. This game also boasts a high skill ceiling that makes players feel clever when they complete a challenge puzzle. I love when games are able to achieve this balancing act.
-At $10, this is a steal imo. Any game that can challenge the player, offer new or innovative content, and keep the player satisfied for many hrs is definitely worth 10 bucks imo. I played for about 3 hrs and completed about 70% of the game. Getting 100% will be really tough. The B Side levels are the most interesting and challenging levels available.
-The visual presentation is simple, but effective, and has plenty of charm to it. It has a clean look and the tiles move smoothly. I like the colors, especially when you complete a level and fireworks go off into the air. Everything looks solid visually imo.
Could Use Some Changes:
-This is another rough around the edges small Indie project. Every time you start the game, you have to manually change the game to full screen. You are really limited in making adjustments to the frame rate and some other basic QOL options that modern games typically have. This game runs great, so I don't think it's really that big of an issue, but I still think it warrants mentioning.
-If you get stuck, you may be stuck for quite some time. I just wrote a review for Fidel Dungeon Rescue. In that review, I noted how big of a deal it was that there are no hints and it's very tough to get help when you are stumped. It's not as big of a deal here b/c the levels are all are all hand crafted and it's fairly easy to find walkthroughs online or find help on the discussion page on Steam.
Consensus:
-Solid Game (Tier 3 and makes up 35% of my reviews). I've been enjoying puzzlers more and more lately. I love when I start getting excited about a new genre. This is a genre that has been around for forever but we are seeing a lot more devs create games in this space as of late. I think that's great. This is a fun and well designed puzzler that will make you think every step of the way. This is an easy game to recommend to fans of the genre.

Cool puzzle game, has a very simple/intuitive ruleset but gets tough in the late game optional puzzles. You have to think a few moves ahead to be successful.

Very smart! One of those games that takes a few simple mechanics and really simmers on them. I'm ignited by the amount of puzzles; just when I thought I'd burned through them, I realized things were just heating up! Also, while there isn't a lot of flare, the style and music are quite char-ming.
Summary
If you are up for a challenge it is an OK game. The rules are extremely simple and you get them immediately. But the combination of those simple rules will laugh at your face, destroy your ego and make you wear a scarf in public to trick people into believing you aren't dumb.
I had to ask myself what was I doing wrong, trying multiple combinations in a rational organized manner to no avail.
The real truth
Then I got covid and began to win. I am not kidding!
So the real question is, was someone writing this game while on covid? Is people trying to program chips inside games so covid can re-program us all as free working automatons for Elon Musk while depopulation happens under WWIII?
Are these indie developers pushing good Linux compatibility because the best software is actually evil? It worked well with Fedora 37, but now I wonder if recent system upgrade bugs were also due to covid...
Will the slaves of the future go to work in their Teslas?
So now you know.

Fantastic compact little puzzle game. Has all the hallmarks of good puzzle game design and plenty of hours of puzzles to solve. Lots of clever little details and absolutely worth your time if you like puzzles.

Edit - Tapping out at 94% complete. Some of those B-side puzzles are wicked.
Recommended - It is worth paying full price for. Excellent puzzle game reminiscent of Stephen's Sausage Roll and Fidel Dungeon Rescue. It's a turn based puzzler where you take a turn to manipulate the environment, and then a wildfire takes its turn to spread across the environment.
Starts off simple - move the burning forest tiles and keep the houses out of danger - but it quickly increases in complexity through the addition of multiple ignition sources, tiles like grass that spread fire quick but burn out, and wind that allow forest fires to spread over gaps. How you manage empty tiles will be the key to your success.
After two hours i'm 55% of the way through, but I've played a lot of these types of games so I'm not sure if that's indicative of a standard play though. There appears to be five worlds, and each world has a B-side for that extra challenge, but I found unexpectedly that I was solving the complex puzzles in the B-side far quicker than the puzzles in the standard world.
If you are a fan of puzzle games that strain your brain, like Stephen's Sausage Roll, Fidel Dungeon Rescue, Baba Is You, Monsters Expedition, Braid, etc, I think you will get a real kick out of this game.
