Awesome game massive upgrade for a South Park game and i'm absolutely loving it, jokes are still funny as always and hopefully keep getting funnier.

I got this on sale, so at least I didn't waste money. This is a garbage re-imagining of Southpark as an RPG. The first one was an early turn-based final-fantasy 7/8/9/10 model. The second one was a Final Fantasy Tactics one. This is modern action RPG. It's mindless and it sucks. The writing isn't there. This is completely phoned-in. The gameplay sucks and the humor isn't there to save it. I'd hoped other reviews were wrong and you could find some fun in this one. There is no fun to be had.

I enjoyed playing this game, but I would not pay full price for it.
I think the developers are missing a huge opportunity to add playable content to the game; it would bring me back to playing more co-op.

I’m not sure if I’m too old, too young, or just outside the target audience for this game, but either way, this game completely missed the mark. And that’s saying a lot coming from someone who ADORED the previous entries like TSOT and TFBW. South Park has always been perfectly my type of humor. But this? This was unfunny, repetitive, and flat out dull.
Let’s start with the one redeeming quality: some of the dialogue. And that’s only because I personally love the characters involved, I was just excited to hear from them again. But even then, the writing felt lifeless. Like I was reading a bad fanfic or playing a cheap flash fan game from like 2015. The story felt lazy, the characters were wildly out of character (in a bad way), and the once clever writing now came off as shallow and soulless.
Gameplay? Absolutely boring. Repetitive to the point where I kept unconsciously grabbing my phone mid mission or just looking around the room for anything else to do. I played solo, maybe it’s more fun with friends, but that would only be because of them, not the game. And tbh if my friends and I played together, we would’ve dropped it after 30 minutes anyway, once we ran out of jokes to make about how shit the game is.
The saddest part for me? The lack of real interaction with the South Park characters. In the older games, your party were the characters and their back and forths made the story come alive. That charm is completely missing here, since your party are either AI just for pve or other people. It feels like the devs were too focused on making it 3D and co-op, which is totally new for the South Park games (With the exception of co-op for SPPD), and forgot everything that made the first two (PC) games so good.
The characters are written like cardboard cutouts. It’s as if someone just googled “what’s this character’s main trait” and ran with that. Like eg. Tweek is just “a spaz” and that’s it. Gone is any depth, charm, or actual dynamic writing. One of his lines “You wanna talk? I don’t have anything to talk about” literally sums up this game. It's not “in character” for Tweek, it’s just lazy.
The price? Insane for the amount of content you get. Especially with DLCs added on top. You could finish the story in like 3 hours if you really tried. And trust me, I had to force myself to complete it as a completionist. It felt like a chore.
As someone who plays Phone Destroyer, played the Fractured But Whole five times (yes, it’s that good), 100% completed both earlier PC games, and rewatched the show many times since I was a kid, I can’t express enough how heartbreaking this game was. The reviews saying it’s bad? They’re not exaggerating. If anything, they’re being generous. Honestly, I don’t even know if Matt and Trey were involved at all. It feels like something made without heart, without effort, and without any understanding of what made the previous games great.
This is a 1/10 game. And I wish I could rate it higher. But there is nothing I can sincerely recommend about it. Avoid it, EVEN if you love South Park.

I wish they made the gameplay the same as in previous games. As is, it feels brainless/childish.

Meh. Disappointing after the others. This game is just boring. Story is mostly absent. Were Trey and Matt even involved in this one? One for the super fans. It feels like it was ported from a phone. Buy it on sale if at all.
I hope the Stick of Truth team return for the next one, that one captured the fun of the characters best.
